I have stayed at all of the other on site hotels but will be completing the set in June when i stay at the Cheyenne. I have had a little look at a map, am i right in thinking the nearest blocks to the park are the Sundance block and the Running Bear? I would prefer to be away from the restaurant so it is quieter at night and as near the park as possible so i was wondering which block i should request. I know they do not have to give you what you ask for but if you don't ask you don't get right? Any other tips on info on the hotel would be greatfully received.

sure we were in jesse james last year which was right opposite the restaurant and to be honest we heard nothing at night or anytime for that matter!

it was really handy as had quite a few rainy days in august and made it easier to dash for breakfast and also to dash through the buildings on way for bus!

is a great hotel - we loved it! would have gone back this year but sequoia was cheaper :confused3 and in end decided on DCR as will have a new baby.

Thanks for the info. I think we will probably walk to the parks so would prefer to be as close as possible. Anyone stayed in either of the blocks i mentioned?

Just had a look on the Cheyenne Hotel thread but it hasn't had any reviews for about 2 years. Can anyone update me on what it's like?

I stayed in the Cheyenne in March.

We were assigned a room in Geronimo which is about as far away from the parks as you can get! :rotfl: The room was ok, but a bit old and tatty in places. However, the theming of the hotel was still as impressive as it was when I went back in 1995.

The big downside the hotel for me, and the reason that I'll never go back there, is the breakfasts. We had a 7am slot and although it was quiet when we first got there it was soon so busy people were practically fighting over the table. The dinner experience we had there was even worse.. :sad1:

If you have any specific questions about the hotel, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer them.

I was a little worried about breakfast. We have eaten dinner there before and on the last occasion it was really crowded.
We do normally have breakfast around 7.15am so we can make the best use of EMH and hopefully that will be a good time to go.
I would like to do a Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast one of the days and pay for breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel on another day so this should help.
The main issue is that when we walk back from the park at night after dreams i want to walk the least distance possible as always find the buses so packed i would prefer not to bother with them.

Looking at my old hotel map for the Cheyenne I would say that Running Bear would definitely be closest to the pathway to the park, with Sundance and Doc Holliday close seconds. Bear in mind though that Running Bear and Sundance are also right next to the road and while the banks may reduce some of the road noise I would think that rooms on that side of the building at least could be noisy in that respect.

My Dh and I stayed here a year or two ago and we really liked it! It was just after the refurb so we had flat screen TVs. We requested running bear for the same reason you want it and got a room right at the end of the corridor closest to the parks! there's fire exit you can get out of and you're right next to the road bridge over the river so the walk is even shorter, and if it hasn't been closed properly you can get back in that way too.

We went off peak and found the breakfast to be fine although I imagine it would get pretty hectic during peak times.

:goodvibes

We were in Wyatt Earp which is right next to the entrance to the main building. We were on the side next to the bus turning circle, and I don't remember being bothered by noise from anywhere, so it can't have been a problem for us. Not sure what it would be like on the inner side rooms though? Anyway that building is probably counted as an Buffalo room now and incurs a supplement.

Cochise looks like a good bet. As cherrymarzipan warned, it's not right next to the main road bridge but second building in, and on the side away from the river - so it shouldn't come under either of the supplement grabbing Buffalo/Rio Grande categories.

We stayed there in February and loved the location of our room. It was in the Sitting Bull building, not far from the main building, but far enough to not be bothered by any noise at all and not too far from the path to the parks. It took us a total of 15 mins to walk to the park each day!

we stayed in sundance in feb and it was really close to the path but as far as you can get from the main building but still only a couple of minutes walk we also stayed in Jesse james in june (right opposite the main building) and didn't hear any noice xxx
