Chevy suburban owners....

I had a 1999 Suburban- huge and roomy, even the third row, with lots of space for luggage.

It was a little more truck than I really needed, so I traded to an Expedition- perfect for my family and IMO easier to handle. BUT-- the third row in the Expedition seems pretty useless. You'd only want small people to sit there, and it leaves very little luggage room. I keep the third seat stored in the garage.

If you only need seating for 5, the Expedition is wonderful. For more than that, I'd look for a minivan or a Suburban.

(For those having trouble finding used Suburbans in good shape, have you checked in warm weather, non-coastal areas? Without the snow or salty air, the rust problems are vastly reduced. We rarely see rusty cars around Dallas.)

we have a 2001 suburban with all the candy, and i love it, but now the kids are getting older and dont want to go with us much, so i figure in a year or two from now we'll be changing to something like an avalanche....my neighbor has an expedition and its just as roomy in the third seat, but then theres not that much behind the seat.

I love my truck. I know every sound and feel of it to the point I know if something just seems wrong with it before my mechanics even can

I know this feeling all too well. I have a '93 Suburban and DH has a '96 (that's right his and hers!) and I love mine more than his. I just think the older Subs are more comfortable and ride better. DH swears by his engine though. He wanted us to get rid of mine and get a new one, but it's still in very good shape and I just love my "10 year old tank" as I call it. I haven't looked at one of the newer ones but I heard they are a bit smaller. I wish they'd work on getting the gas mileage up, though. Filling up a Suburban's 42 gallon tank nowadays is no fun at all!
