cherry tree question......we have four of them.....bing....stella and two

montmorency...or something like that....we had brown rot a few years ago....so last year we sprayed a fungicide and we got more ....this year we got a blower and fine misted them....but we are having rain after rainstorms....does the fungicide work ......if we have rain right after it
we did get two dry spells in with the first spray

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your cherry trees Pumba. Brown rot sounds like it can be a devastating disease.

The following quote is the closest I've come to finding an answer to your question.

The spraying of the trees is extremely weather dependent. Conditions must be perfect - dry and minimal wind. In addition, the best case scenario requires dry weather for 14 hours after the trees are sprayed,"

Hi pumba I do not have cherries but do have peach trees. I have never had brown rot on the peach trees, but I know they do get this disease.

Like all fruit tree disease, brown rot can distroy fruit crops year after year.

I think the first thing is clean off all the decayed fruit from the tree and the ground. There are spores in the decayed fruit that will re-infect the new crop. Use a fungicide regularly. During the dormant season give the tree a good pruning.

Wish I could help you more, this years crop may be lost. Once the disease starts one of the worst things is continuing rain. This just spreads the spores more.
