Chefs de France

We finally made a dinner reservation for Chefs de France. This is one of the few restaurants as Disney that I've never eaten. I'm generally not a French food person, but being a food lover I don't want to discriminate...lol.
For those of you that have eaten here recently, what would you consider the best items on the menu?

We've eaten lunch twice at Chefs de France and both times it was good. The atmosphere is just like sitting in a Parisian cafe. The lunch menu offers a special that's less than $20 which includes onion soup, a toasted ham and cheese sandwich/salad and finishes with creme brulee. It's a good deal with generous portions. the first time we ate there, we had a young child with us who had a hamburger--he liked it a lot! I remember that on the second trip my bil had some sort of roast chicken that he really enjoyed.

I've sampled several of the appetizers including the pate, lobster bisque and the snails. Everything was good.

My only warning is that service is paced for a relaxing meal. If you think you're going to bop in and out in 45 minutes--forget it. But if you're willing to sit at a window seat and watch the world go by, you can spend a pleasant meal time there.

I don't remember what main dishes we got. However, I know that Dh paid oop for the french onion soup & it was wonderful!

Last time we ate there in August 2008 we had the Scallops and Shrimp (my wife and older son), the duck (my younger son), and I had the Lamb Shank. For dessert, it was Creme Brule for the kids and I and a fruit salad for my wife. We all really loved our meals.

I would agree with the other poster who felt the service was at a "relaxed pace". As long as you are not in a hurry, just sit back and enjoy your meal.

The cheese plate appetizer was awesome! it had such creamy cheeses, oh and a little bit of icky goat cheese. the rest was the best! I had the french onion soup which was also amazing.

The duck was ok, a bit dry and i didnt care for the sauce. The profiteroles were good, but would be better with warm chocolate sauce instead of cold.

this place was packed for our late dinner. service was great though, and we got a spot by the window.

I had lunch there in Nov 2008 and it was so good! I loved the bread and for my main course I had the gratin de macaroni (mac 'n' cheese)...the dish was ginormous. For dessert we had the profiteroles. I liked them but the pastry puffs were a little dry.

liked it very much -- that french onion soup is awesome, as was the mushroom tart thingy. As for our entrees, were not spectacularly "French" - except for the name on the menu the desserts are wonderful.

We eat there on just about every trip. I have had the duck many times and found it to be one of my favorites. I have also tried their beef tenderloin which was very good. Make sure you have one of their very nice wines to go along with your dinner.

The flatbreads were amazing as an app...my Tuna was not great, but my neices had the mac & cheese and the beef short ribs, both of which were great. My creme brulee was fantastic as well...
