Has anyone ver tried the The French Menu: Soupe a l'oignon gratinee, Demi poulet fermier a la broche pommes puree au basilic et tomate braisee, and Creme brulee? Reviews?

It's good, I had it last time I visited it is a pretty basic meal however.Not to be a wise guy but it's really just;

Onion soup

Roast Chicken & potatoes

Villina custard

onion soup is a must :) the bacon and onion flatbread in a close second.

i love the burger/fries and chocolate cake, mom loves the vegetable lasagna and creme brulee, fiance loves the ham and cheese sandwich and the profiteroles.

My husband loves the onion soup here, I love the quiche, the creme brulle is fantastic.

would suggest you don't go into Chefs expecting gourmet French food...it's French "cafe" food, so expect the French version of your local diner or Mom&Pop cafe. French comfort food, of the type you'd eat in every-day meals...not ultra fancy gourmet foods. Yes, it has lovely French names on the dishes, but they really are basic foods.

Did we like it, yes. Both times we've gone. And some in our party did get the 3 course meal. They liked it. We've had the beef, the chicken and the fish dishes there. All were good.

But look at the English translations on the menu and it really is just braised beef with noodles, roast chicken, baked salmon, stewed veggies, onion soup, etc. Simple cafe/diner food.

I just want to make sure you know that there are a few more choices in each category other than what you listed, but no substitutions.

Appetizer choices: salad, french onion soup or lobster bisque [which was really good]. Entree choices: half chicken, beef short ribs [excellent], salmon or macaroni and cheese. And finally, dessert choices: creme brulee, chocolate cake and what I can only guess is a cream puff. :confused3

Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

any other suggestions of what to order?

I agree with a past poster the lobster bisque and braised short ribs are very good as is the chocolate mousse cake.

My wife and I had an even better “French” meal at Bistro de Paris

Appetizers:
Escargot - Wife
Sauteed Shrimp – me

Main Course:
Rack of Lamb for both

Dessert:
Crepes duo Suzette and warm apples -for both

Our server had recommended a good bottle of wine which we enjoyed and finished with the assorted French cheese selection.

Nine months later our son was born, but that’s another story.
