You read this a lot when Chef's is mentioned. It was our experience as well. They were REALLY slow. The food was awesome, but the wait was LONG, and the server wasn't the friendliest person I have met by any means. The wait and rude staff were all a thing of the pass though when that onion Soup arrived. It was worth the wait and the frustrations. Our service was so slow and rude, it took us well over 2 hours to eat once we were finally seated. With 6pm ADRs we barely made Illuminations at 9pm. I really wanted to love this place, but the service was the real killer for me.
At Chefs we loved the pate sampler appetizer, DH really enjoyed the Boulebaise (I know I spelled that completely wrong), I really did not like the duck entree at all. It was yucky, dried out duck with brown gravy and sweet potatoes, too much like Thanksgiving dinner but not good.

Our service there was FABULOUS both times we've been recently. It's the French attitude that sometimes comes off as slightly stand-offish. That's just a culture thing. Many times they are not being rude, or at least trying not to be. Granted there are some rude waiters there and I have seen some but not experienced it first hand.
