What is the best meal you've had at Chefs de France?

What is the best dessert you've had at Sci Fi?

Well not a meal- but the onion soup at chefs is amazing. So funny cuz it was the first time my hubby ever tasted french onion soup- GREAT place to try it for the first time :-)

Sci-Fi, i've only had milkshakes, adn those are ALL great.

Chefs de France: ditto on the French Onion Soup. It's amazing. Their macaroni and cheese entree is delicious too; not what you'd normally think of as mac 'n cheese, this is much richer with gruyere cheese and cream in it as well.

Sci-Fi: The only dessert I've ever had there was a simple sundae, vanilla ice cream with hot fudge. Nothing to write home about, IMO. Not bad, but nothing special and not worth the cost, IMO. I'd have been just as happy with a dollar sundae from McDonald's, if that tells you anything.

The beef short ribs at Chefs was something pretty special for World Showcase eating.

The only dessert I've ever had at Sci-Fi was basic cheesecake. Not bad, but certainly not exceptional.

Without a doubt the most amazing Onion Soup in the world!!!
My wife ordered a burger at Chef's Du France. I kinda cracked on her a little for ordering a hamburger at a French restaurant. She said it was her single favorite entree of the whole 8 day free dining week! I tasted it. It was pretty good.:thumbsup2
I've already forgotten about sci-fi, but I do remember the artichoke dip being awesome.

Oh I love the French Onion soup at Chefs.

Best dessert at Sci fi is the Chocolate cake with the warm peanut butter in the middle. OMG so good. I forget the name.

DH & I loved the onion soup and the escargot at Chefs, but thought the short rib entree was just blah. The duck entree was worse. I cannot say anything good about the entrees we had there.

I don't get desserts at dinner very often, but I did love my chocolate shake at Sci-Fi a couple of years ago (I considered it a dessert rather than a beverage).

The bacon and onion flatbread was the best thing ever!

At Chefs we loved the pate sampler appetizer, DH really enjoyed the Boulebaise (I know I spelled that completely wrong), I really did not like the duck entree at all. It was yucky, dried out duck with brown gravy and sweet potatoes, too much like Thanksgiving dinner but not good.

Our service was so slow and rude, it took us well over 2 hours to eat once we were finally seated. With 6pm ADRs we barely made Illuminations at 9pm. I really wanted to love this place, but the service was the real killer for me.

You read this a lot when Chef's is mentioned. It was our experience as well. They were REALLY slow. The food was awesome, but the wait was LONG, and the server wasn't the friendliest person I have met by any means. The wait and rude staff were all a thing of the pass though when that onion Soup arrived. It was worth the wait and the frustrations.
I'll also point out that Chef's was VERY loud and VERY crowded. But I'd do it again in a heat beat as it really was some of the best food we've had in Disney.

Very disheartening to hear about the service. Did you have children with you? Maybe with kids at a table they are a little quicker? A little slow I can stand, rudeness will not go over well. :sad2:

At Chefs... tomato and goat cheese flatbread, onion soup, and short ribs! :)

Our service there was FABULOUS both times we've been recently. It's the French attitude that sometimes comes off as slightly stand-offish. That's just a culture thing. Many times they are not being rude, or at least trying not to be. Granted there are some rude waiters there and I have seen some but not experienced it first hand.

My DH also raved about those short ribs. I had the seared Tuna which had nice flavor but the fish was too tough.

The only entree I have eaten at Chefs was the filet. But it might have been the best filet I have ever eaten, anywhere.

This is what I was going to say. What can come across as rudeness to us as Americans is really just how they are, I guess is the best way to put it. They're not trying to be rude, it's just a cultural difference. This is generally speaking of course; there's usually a bad apple or two in most waitstaffs, unfortunately. That said, I've only seen one lady working there be really rude; no cultural difference was explaining that attitude she had! :scared: Otherwise, we've had nothing but polite waiters and waitresses there over the years.
