I haven't been to this restaurant since the first year it opened. The food was excellent but the atmosphere was :snooty:. It probably isn't fair that I'm still judging this way. Anyhow,I'm considering an ADR at CDF in May and would like recent reviews. Thanks:)

This was not one of our favorite choices we made last Sept. The food was barely fair. While the waiter was charming and sweet, he was not helpful at all when my daughter broke a glass in her mac and cheese dinner. Not only did he not offer to help clean the table and disappear, he did not offer to get her a second dish. She left hungry and we left disappointed with the whole experience. Even without the glass incident, the food was the least enjoyable dinner we had in all of our trips.

Sorry I couldnt be more positive, but there are so many great choices, especially at Epcot, I had to voice my opinion.

Chefs de France is DISGUSTING. Do not ever eat here.

Just kidding. ;) I'm afraid if I praise it too much, it'll be hard to get an ADR!! :rotfl: I actually ADORE Chefs -- it was one of our absolute favorite meals last summer. We loved it so much, we're going again this summer. The service was wonderful. Our server offered to hold our meals until Illuminations was over, as we'd been seated by the large front window, and she thought we'd want to watch. We did watch, but we ate during the show. It was a fantastic experience, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Chefs de France, and Bistro de Paris (its sister restaurant, upstairs) are excellent restaurants! Fine dining can be found at Bistro, while superior casual dining can be found at Chefs. We ate there in February, and it was wonderful. The service was great -- very helpful and courteous. The food was fantastic. They had the best seafood and the best steak our party had all week.

We just lunch at Chefs last week after many years away. I think I had had too many "snooty" middle aged French gentlemen serving us. This time, all of the servers were young--college-aged or so--and quite friendly. DD9 spoke a little French with our server; she was more than happy to play along. The food was very good. It's one place you definitely can get some different dishes. Overall, I think worth a try. We plan to go back!

We ate at Chefs twice in January. In all our trips to WDW, we had never dined there before. We thought it was great. The "French Menu" at lunch was really good. French Onion Soup, Grilled Ham & Cheese sandwich (it was very nice) and creme brulee for dessert - YUMMY.

Two days later we decided to have dinner at Chefs. Again excellent, especially the Lobster Bisque. My family really enjoyed Chefs.

We love Chefs de France! I've never had a bad dish there, or a bad server.

Our family's Disney tradition is to always eat lunch at Chefs on our last day. We get the French onion soup, Quiche Lorraine, Macaroni and creme brulee. I love the French rolls.

The ham and cheese croissant is also delicious, as is the roasted chicken on the dinner menu.

Thank-you all for your reviews. We're going to give it another try!

Excellent food and service. We never miss eating here. The Gratin de Macaroni is very good as are the onion soup and the crusty rolls.

Here is my review of Chef's de France. Bear in mind that I'm about the least picky person I know of in terms of restaurants and almost never complain about anything Disney since I'm the ultimate Disney "Yes Man".

Pros: Has a roof in case of rain
Cons: Bad food, apathetic waitstaff

We unfortunately ate at Chef's de France on March 21, 2006. My wife and I had been to Paris for New Years 2006 and were hoping to relive what it was like, yes I know it's not "real" France, but you would think the food would be somewhat comparable.

We started off with the cheese plate, which was absolutely WEAK! The cheese plates in France are gynormous and go for around $5. I expected a little bit more for $9.95 than 3 small portions of common cheeses and some shrivelled grapes.

Next, we decided to split the French Menu, mostly because of the rotisserie chicken, which we had plenty of in France. First of all, the waitress didn't seem to comprehend splitting something because she brought out two bowls of french onion soup. I figured she missed that part so I asked her if we were both supposed to get a bowl since we were splitting and she simply said nothing and took my bowl away from me, it was astonishing!

After splitting the soup, out came the rotisserie chicken, which had no flavor and was tiny, the potatoes were of odd consistency and tasted like I don't know what, and the tomato zapped my taste buds with a fervor never before felt.

Luckily, the creme brulee was very tasty, I especially loved the top, so sweet!

Our waitress probably filled our waters and may or may not have delivered us our food, I really didn't notice her at all except for her theft of my bowl of french onion soup that I would have gladly paid extra for. We both came out still hungry and vowed never again to fall victim to the Chefs de France!

I myself love the lunch there. If you get a window seat you may see street entertainers

I'm a little confused. Did you tell her you wanted the soup? From your post, you asked her why you were getting soup if you were splitting the meal. How did she "steal" it if you told her you didn't want it? You also complain that you both came out hungry. Why didn't you both order your own meals as opposed to sharing? How is that a reflection on the restaurant. :confused3

Not to make excuses, but maybe she figured since you were splitting one meal, drinking water instead of beverages (I assume), and tipping based on that, you would also receive half the service? :rotfl:

I have also been to France, and I would agree that the food is not identical to what you may get there. It's a pretty good rendition, though. We have always had good service and excellent food the many times we have eaten at Chefs de France. Of course we don't order one meal to split between the two of us, and we do order drinks. If we can't afford to spend the $$, then we don't go. IMO, we get what we paid for. :rolleyes1

I totally agree with you and I, too, have been to France.

Chefs de France is my favorite Epcot restaurant. My daughter and I ate there for lunch Thanksgiving weekend and loved our food. The same day we ate dinner at Rose and Crown, and thought the food wasn't half as good as at Chefs.
