I can't decide which of these restaurants to do with the Candlelight Processional package. I had the Chef's booked and switched to Coral Reef. I have eaten at Chef's and it was good but they took steak off their menu which is what I wanted to order. I thought it might be nice to try the mahi mahi at Coral Reef.I have never tried mahi mahi and I have never eaten at Coral Reef. I can't decide which restaurant to choose.
Please Help!!!!!!!!!:confused3

I've eaten at both places several times, and I've had consistently a better experience at Coral Reef (and my favorite is that Mahi Mahi). You'll probably get mixed reviews, but that's my vote.

Have not eaten at the Chef's but ate at Coral Reef 9/19/07, had the steak and it was great! We had 5 adults who all ordered the steak 4 medium and 1 medium-well and they were all perfect!

Thanks for the great responses . The mixed reviews are what have me:confused3 I have eaten at Chefs while I know it was good it was not memorable. I am not sure if this is the time to try Coral Reef, atleast I am getting a ticket to CP even if I don't like it. I know that most people love the chocolate wave so maybe that and admission to CP are worth it to give it a try. I am curious if anyone else willl offer their opinions since the reviews on these 2 restaurant have seemed very mixed lately.I really appreciate everyones opinion!!!!!
Thanks!!!!:)

When we did Candelight Processional w/dinner package, the menu was not the regular menu. It was limited to only certain items. I don't know if this has changed; we did this at Chefs de France in 2005 and were not thrilled with what we were given to choose.

Have eaten at both restaurants and Coral Reef is far better food and service and ambience.

We just ate at both restaurants last week. I had the Tuna at Chefs and Mahi Mahi at Coral Reef. The Mahi Mahi was the winner, hands down. DH had the duck at Chefs and the steak at Coral Reef. Steak at Coral Reef was the winner. My DD11 had the pork chop at Coral Reef and it was really good as well......so my recommendation would be Coral Reef.

We also were not thrilled with the service we received at Le Chefs and I had trouble finding something on the menu that I really wanted. Our server at Coral Reef was very attentive and was helpful in making recommendations as to what to order. And the Chocolate Wave was very good. I asked for ice cream with mine instead of the cherries (offered to pay extra for the ice cream if I needed to) and they were happy to comply and didn't charge me anything extra.

Edited to add: we probably would not return to Le Chefs de France in the future.

We ate at Chef's yesterday and it was just okay. I always enjoy Coral Reef, but I would be sure to allow enough time there as they tend to run behind.

Thank you for all the great responses. I am leaning toward sticking with Coral Reef. These 2 restaurants seem to have alot of mixed reviews.I have eaten at Chefs so I think I will try Coral Reef. With admission to CP and the chance to try the Chocolate Wave it should be worth the money.
Thanks again!!!!!!!:)

Loved CR on the last 5 visits there.

During our trip in June, we ate at Chefs de France. While the atmosphere was great and the service was very good, the food was literally inedible other than the flatbread appy. Soooo...just our humble opinion, but we would choose anywhere over Chefs.

We love Coral Reef and the Mahi-Mahi is excellent!! My DD loves the lobster soup. We can't wait to go again in December.

Coral Reef!! We ate there last night and it was TDF!! Seriously! The crab legs were so yummy and the service was excellent!!

Love both and each has something in the menu thats worth visiting for but to be honest I think Coral Reef just nips in for the ambience.. Chefs du France can get a little noisy when its full..

Thanks again for the great responses!!!! I am going to give Coral Reef a try. I have never eaten mahi mahi and it seems to be popular at Coral Reef. I think their steak dish is also very popular but I know they serve new york strip and I prefer tenderloin. There are alot of places to get steak at WDW but not everyone has good mahi mahi.:yay:
Thanks again!!!!:)

We always eat at CR every trip and have never been disappointed. As others have said, they can be slow and running behind---just expect that, but it is wonderful for either lunch or dinner. It is not for those who are in a hurry to get somewhere! It is best for a relaxed, leisurely meal. The kids love it too!
