We want to go to this restaurant for lunch but do not want to go crazy with food. Would it be ok to order a soup each and then share a sandwich option at lunch--we are not on the dining plan?

While in Epcot we like to try samples from different countries so we will get pita and hummus at tangerine and share, But we would like to try thr french onion soup. They should selll that and Canada should sell cheese soup at a soup stand. They would be soo popular.

I don't see why that would be a problem at all! You can't share TS meals while on the DDP, but if you're just paying out of pocket, it should be fine.

And, by the way, we LOVE french onion soup and always try it every where we go. Chefs de France was the best we ever had. Seriously good.

At table service restaurants where you're ordering from a menu, and you're not using any dining plan, order any which way you want. There are no rules when you're paying out of pocket.

chefs de france has a great lunch!

we have an early dinner planned our first day in march, but know we'll be starving when we get off the plane.... so i booked chefs de france so we can enjoy a bowl of soup, the baguette and maybe a piece of cake. that should last us till our dinner at 6pm!!

Agree with everyone about the French onion soup. YUM. We ate here on our last trip and it will definitely be on the plan for our next trip. Our kids even enjoyed it here.

WDW posted a question on Facebook about the best thing you've ever eaten in Disney World. And my wife said her CDF French Onion Soup would be in her top two with the Artist Point Adult Mac and Cheese.

We had such a nice lunch here on our last trip (last Feb). It was a sunny but very cool day (in the 50's !:scared1:). We had a lovely window seat where we could watch all the happenings outside including the french waiter/juggler show and character interaction. We were visited by Remy who was very funny. And the food was really good, love the bread they give you. My DS had a sparkling french lemonade which was good. Several had french onion soup and loved it. I would do lunch here again in a heartbeat and I hope you share a dessert because they are really good here too!

Sometimes my mom and split the 3 course lunch deal that costs $20 where you have a choice of a few different items. We normally choose the french onion soup, the grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and the creme brulee. Then, we usually order one extra french onion soup so that we each have our own and don't have to share! I do think there are some other entree and dessert choices, but just a few.

We do exactly that at home .... each get an appetizer and then share a sandwich or a main dish. Easy on the budget and waistline. Doing at WDW makes perfect sense ... go for it!!!
