I've heard mixed reviews about these restaurants. DH and I are planning a second honeymoon this summer at AKL. One of the places we've never eaten is Chefs de France. I made a lunch reservation there, but now I'm having doubts. Please let me know what your opinion of it is. Our other ADRs are for Boma which we love, Jiko, where we've never eaten, Narcoosee's, Wolfgang Puck's, GF Cafe and Kouzzina. We're also curious about Kouzzina. We like Cat Cora on "Iron Chef" and know her style is Greek/Med., but that is about it.
To give you an idea of the kind of stuff we like, our favorite restaurants are Narcoosee's, California Grill and Restaurant Marrakesh. I also like the Brown Derby, but DH is not a huge fan. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.

Chefs is our favorite non-signature restaurant. Though, we love HBD too. It's favorite signature restaurant, at the moment. My family & your DH may have differing opinions on what's tasty. ;) We always eat dinner at Chefs, but I'm sure lunch is great too.

Sorry, we've never eaten at Kouzzina, so I'm no help with that. I didn't know who Cat Cora was, until Kouzzina came about. We do love greek food. We'll have to give it a try soon.

I really liked the lunch I had at Chefs a few years ago, and also really enjoyed Kouzzina last year, for breakfast as well as dinner. Both are on my "return to" list.

We went to Kouzzina for dinner a few months ago and everything was delicious! We were initially somewhat apprehensive since they received mix reviews, but I'm happy to report that we really enjoyed the food and service.

Same here - loved Chef's, also love Brown Derby, never been to Kouzzina. We really enjoyed Chef's for lunch when we were at WDW in March - good food, friendly CMs, great atmosphere (we had a really nice table by the window with a nice view of the lake.)

I'm also a fan of Narcoosee's, and the California Grill menu looks great to us, and I liked Marrakesh (but have not been there since bringing the kids) so if that's any indication, you may enjoy Chef's, too!

Love Chefs, we never miss it. We are trying Kouzzina for the first time in August so can't comment yet.

I've been to Chefs a couple of time - twice for lunch and once for dinner. I find it to be "just okay". The food is decent and the service is adequate.

My Dh and I had breakfast at Kouzina. The food was Outstanding. The service was strange. It was like the whole serving staff didn't really believe in the menu. We would like to go back for dinner some time

we eat at Chefs every trip! We've never had a bad meal there. Although there was the one stressful time that we ate there, when our daughter, who was back at home, was having a teenage crisis. I spent the whole meal texting back and forth with her. I thought my husband was going to disown me! :rotfl:

Both are on our dining list in a couple of weeks. I will post reviews.

Our favourite restaurants each trip are Flying Fish, California Grill, Fulton's, Shula's, Il Mulino, BlueZoo, Kimono's and Brown Derby were pretty good the one time we ate there.

We're venturing out more this trip and added new restaurants to our list ~ Yachtsman Steakhouse, The Wave, Citricos, Nacroosees and Coral Reef. I really wanted to try Bistro de Paris but I don't think it would be a good choice for the children.

Thumbs up for Chefs de France... always enjoyed it.

Never tried Kouzzina... however I have noticed that when it first opened the reviews were generally negative, but lately they seemed to have swung the other way with more and more people enjoying the experience. I think we will have to give it a go the next time out! :)

We have been to Chef's twice and love it both times. Both times we went for lunch. The food was really delish and the service was great as well.

We tried Kouzzina last year and it was delicious. It is now a must do and a family favorite. The food was amazing there.

I recommend both restaurants.:thumbsup2

Chef's has good quality food, but it is pretty traditional french fare. We love dishes are that are unique and inspired. We consider Chefs a good lunch place, but would never eat there for dinner. I just don't get very excited over the menu. Not like I do at Jiko or Cal Grill.

We ate at Chefs the last time we were there and everyone loved it. I would try it. I like to try everything at least once and then you can decide whether to add it to the rotation for future visits.

Thanks everyone. I feel better. We are not going to be there very long---only 4 days--- so I felt a little doubtful about incorporating a new restaurant and leaving out old favorites as result. But, it is fun to try new places.

I just ate at Chefs for lunch last month. I love it! I recommend that you do the prix fixe menu to get the french onion soup or just add it on if you choose off the regular menu - it's delicious. Also, you HAVE to get the cheese plate. I am going back JUST TO GET THE CHEESE! It's so awesome!!!!

Also, I ate at Kouzzina, and the food was great too! Very warm and comforting and rich!

I like both very much. Kouzzina leans to Greek style food. I had the seafood stew and it was yummy. A little (hot) spicy, but I like that kind of food. Other may not, not so much that my to tongue was burning but it was warm.

Chefs de France is one of my favorite restaurants in the World Showcase. It has been excellent every meal.

I chose Chefs de France for a meal because I believed it would be a meal that I really enjoyed. However, i was the one person in my party of 4 that didn't really enjoy the food. The food on the kids menu was quite good though. We went for lunch the day before thanksgiving and the restaurant was really crowded and quite hectic. I think i would have enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere a lot better if we had went for dinner after dark. Also, by ddbff was upset because her feet had gotten wet from the rain and was being extremely challanging. It was my least favorite meal of the trip in regards to food. I much preferred crystal palace, chef mickey's, 50's prime time, jiko's, boma, and crt :).

We've been to both Chef's and Kouzzina. I liked both, however, you should keep in mind two things:

1) Chef's seems to be less hectic at lunch time which tends to produce better service and quality food. Everytime we have eaten at lunch, the meals have been superb. The only time we at a dinner at Chef's was a complete disaster, as it took our server forever to get the food and the entrees were not wonderfully prepared.

2) Kouzina is a bit expensive for what it is. The fisherman's stew was great (I have never eaten something so unique and tasty), but the appetizers and deserts, even though they are really tasty, are over-priced for such small portions. BTW, it is not a traditional Greek restaurant. I live in Chicago area and my family is 100% Greek. Our yiayia's (grandmas), cook much different than Kouzina and all of the wonderful Greek restaurants in Chicago's Greek Town neighborhood cook exactly like our yiayia's cooking. Be that as it may, my family enjoyed Kouzinna and we would eat there again.

I'm 100% Greek too. Kouzzina is different from how our family cooks as well but we love it there too! I especially love the avgolemono soup. It is really tasty. I wasn't keen on the loukoumathes (dessert). I like ours better. :rolleyes1

Still worth a try though.

I agree on the prices.....a bit high.
