Chef Remys Dining Extravaganza Complete! Updated Cookes of Dublin

Day 1 Nov 10!

We arrived to the beautiful AKL around noon and after checking in headed over to Epcot for the F&W Festival. Crowds were light and the food was excellent! Our sampling around the world was our lunch and boy we were starving. We used our snack credits for our food, which saved a ton of money because the festival is super expensive for what you get.

Chef Remy is here!!!!

Sausage on Pretzel Roll in Germany-This was a hit!!

Caramel Brownie from Caramel Shop in German- DH said it was more like a cake than a brownie, but still good

Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!!! The lobster roll is the best thing I have had in a long time. So good and a great value for a snack credit at $7.25:)

For dinner that night we had a reservation at Ohana. I had cancelled it because we didn't want to go through the nightmare of getting there and back to the AKL. I then booked Rose and Crown and cancelled that because we had just had fantastic English food in Vegas the previous week. So back on my smartphone I went and scored a reservation for Boma. I have to tell you I was nervous to eat here because my DH is picky with food. Well let me tell you Boma was the best Disney restaurant I have ever eaten at. The winner for us was the lamb curry which is only served on Thursday and Monday nights we found out! We love curry and this one had large chunk of lamb, which would cost me mega $$$$$$ to make it the way they did. I was also in love with the seafood gumbo, oooooh so good :lovestruc. My DH liked the chicken and mashed potatoes as well. I also enjoyed the different vegetable dishes, cous cous, and the desserts were delightful. I did not take pictures of the buffet because it was busy and I was having such a good time eating I didn't even think about it.

On a funny side note after we were done eating we attacked as well as the table next to us by a flying cockroach  They were from the UK and told us they had never seen anything like it! Thank goodness they were done eating as well. A manager came over a caught the thing and we were surprised that she didn't say anything to us. We laughed after the fact that the roach was just Disney trying to make the buffet authentic that we were really in in Africa!

For lunch the next time we went to an old favorite Wolfgang Puck Express. My DH had the spaghetti with meatballs and I had the chicken BBQ pizza. I have to admit my pizza was no cooked enough, the dough was mushy. Oh well, I ate a couple of slices anyway. For dessert we had a few bites of the frozen yogurt with sprinkles.

This place is a great value for the dining plan, however I would never pay OOP, its too expensive here :scared1: Earl of Sandwhich next door is a better value if you are paying for it.

Joining in! Love the reviews so far - Remy is much cuter than my Traveling Sausage! :rotfl2: I'd love to go to the F&W sometime and now your review REALLY makes me want to go! Can't wait to read more.

A traveling sausage :lmao: Too funny.

Boma sounds great! I love curry and I'm dying to try either Boma or Sanaa on a future trip. Also, WPE has gotten great reviews so the next time I'm back on the dining plan I'll give it a shot. It's just so hard to pass up those amazing sandwiches at the Earl of Sandwich, and with my next trip off property (no dining plan), the sandwiches will be a great value!

For dinner that night we went to Cosmic Rays before the start of the MVMCP. We both had the burgers with fries and both were good, not the greatest. I didn't take pictures as there really isn't much to see :goodvibes

Coming up Yak and Yeti!!!

Yak and Yeti Lunch

Yak and Yeti was the surprise meal of the trip. I loved the atmosphere and the decor of the place, very nice! We were seated upstairs and were greated promptly by a very friendly server. Our service and food were both out of this world! To start with I ordered a Kirin Ichiban Draft, I love Japanese beer and this was the perfect pairing for the dish I ordered.

My DH ordered the ribs with chicken fried rice and he said they were excellent, and he was so full that dessert was not an option.

I ordered the seafood curry:worship: This was the best entree of the trip, and honestly one of the best things I have eaten period. The portion was huge and I couldn't eat half of it. The shrimp were quite large, scallops, and mussels were on the small side but still fantastic. I was so impressed with this entree I found the recipe online and made it this past week. The recipe was true to what I ate at the restaurant.

For dessert had the fried wontons, they were soooo good! I am sure they were fat free right :rolleyes1

I cannot wait to return here and next time I go to WDW I may even go here twice!

Okay, that seafood curry sounds like the best thing ever! I absolutely love curry, and I love seafood, so I am just really hoping we are able to get here on our next trip. Could you share the recipe that you found online?

We've just made an ADR for Yak & Yeti for our trip in May and your review has got me even more excited

I love Remy's expression whilst 'looking' at your dessert :rotfl:

It is the best thing ever :lmao: if you google yak and yeti seafood curry it comes up on the first page. The link is through the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. This dish has only been the menu less than a year and has been a hit with the locals.

A little late, but great reviews/pics. so far! Love Remy btw.

The seafood curry looks absolutely delish, and I'm leaning towards Yak & Yeti again b/c of it. :goodvibes

The spaghetti and meatballs from WPE look pretty good too.

PT 50's Diner

For dinner that night we had a very late ressie at Pt 50s in DHS. I have never seen the place so packed for dinner and were seated around 9:20 for our meal. I didn't take any pictures as this was our 4th time dining here and the food and service were excellent as always. My DH had the strawberry milkshake, which I tasted and it was perfect. I opted for the health option with the berry smoothie. We both had the sampler platter with fried chicken (this is the only place I will eat it :)), pot roast (best in the universe), and meatloaf. This is served with greens and green beans. For dessert we both had Dad's Brownie Sundae, which we only could eat a few bites, but it's so good. Our waitress was a lot of fun and we can't wait to go back here again. This is one place that keeps us talking back home as to how much we love the food and crave it often.

Up next a change up lunch at Coral Reef, another first visit for us!

:goodvibesCoral Reef Lunch

I have always wanted to eat here and didn't even know where the restaurant was located, which we found out was right next to Nemo. We had a reservation for 11:30 for lunch and were the second party to be seated right next the aquarium. The whole restaurant makes you feel like your under the sea! I loved the use of mosiac tiles everywhere. Our server was very nice and provided excellent service for a nice quiet meal. Throughout the meal we saw sharks, turtles, and various fish. I like the fish guide they provide so you can identify what you are looking at while you eat. The bread and butter were nice that they bought out, it was a ciabatta bread. For my entree I had the lobster ravioli which was very good and the portion size not too big, which is alright with me. My DH had the New York Strip that was quite good. We didn't have dessert here as nothing really appealed to us. I really enjoyed our quiet lunch with the fishies and would love to come back here again. This was a great surprise restaurant.

We had dinner at the Coral Reef and also enjoyed it! It was very cool to sit right next to the tank. You got some good pictures of the tank, mine didn't come out very well - too dark. The lobster ravioli looks delicious, if we ever go back here I think I will give that a try! ;)

Back to the reviews, we were gone to Hawaii for almost 2 weeks, and didn't even look at Disboards while we were away. Here is my review of Cookes of Dublin.
We were soooo sad they didn't have the scallops :scared1: So my DH and the sausages with chips and I have shrimp with chips. Both very very good! The raspberry filled cupcakes for dessert were devine. Too bad I only had a bit, as its a sin to waste such good food!
