this is what all ears says.....
35.14 for Adults, $19.16 for Children 3-9 includes tax NOT gratuity

cant be right..were talking eggs...not caviar..unless since 2008 they've added caviar

Really??

Yep! We never go for breakfast for this reason. My kids are not big breakfast eaters so dinner makes more since for us. It's still a lot, but at least they will eat.

We are on FD so didn't even pay attention to the price when I booked my ADR. Yikes, that is pricey!

A little sad to see how prices have increased so much over the years. Its one of the reasons why they are able to offer the free dining at various times. Dinner prices are similar as well at most all the Disney restaurants. Our kids love breakfast with the characters though so we usually do a late breakfast buffet restaurant around 11-11:30 am which actually works more for lunch with us. Unfortunately for us though, we can never seem to go at a time they offer free dining!

You're not paying for the eggs. You're paying for the access to the characters, and people are either willing to pay it or they're on the dining plan, because it's still somewhat difficult to get a reservation at Chef Mickey's. There's also a theory out that buffet prices are being jacked up in order to steer guests on the dining plan into booking them, thinking they're getting a better value.

We upgraded to DxDP on the FD and we'll still be way ahead with the cost of food in just what we'd end up paying OOP for breakfast!

We ate at Crystal Palace for breakfast in July, four of us, the bill was $104 plus tip. We knew it would be a lot, and like others have said, did it for the characters, but won't be doing it again. A hundred bucks for breakfast hurts (granted, it WAS really good)!

Yes it is expensive! The first time we went we really enjoyed the food. The second time we went, I thought it wasn't very good. It wasn't bad, just not worth the money. We had the dining plan, so the price didn't matter, and dd enjoyed the characters, but we are going to skip it next year.

The prices are be design to steer you into the Dining plan......Sad but true!

And it is rather sad to say - it is working, at least on me!

We purchased the dining plan on the upcoming trip because I do not want to deal with the sticker shock at the restaurants!

We paid a fortune at Chef Mickey for breakfast and the food was terrible. No more for us even on the dining plan.

We've not eaten Crystal Palace since my oldest was 3 or 4, he's now 17. We're planning on eating there this trip. We really have to space out our CRT ressies....we ate their 4 years ago and used 2 TS credits as we were on the dining plan, but to pay OOP for that TS would be 300.00 for our family, and that doesn't include tip!!! CRAZY how much they charge for a family style buffet.

I'll pay it for dinner, but we would never eat $35 worth of food per person in the morning. We are grab-n-go breakfat eaters. Sometimes we skip it altogether.

its a good thing I won't have little ones expecting char dining on this trip. For me I'll skip I'm not an early bird anyhow.

When my kids were younger, the character dining was the way to go. While I love Chef Mickeys and so do my kids, we can not justify the cost any more. My kids are 18 and 20. We have decided to skip all buffet style meals at WDW this next trip.

This makes me really sad. We are planning this as a "once in a lifetime trip" (unless I can change my DH's mind!) And we had booked a Crystal Palace bkfast and Chef Mickey's bkfast, but after seeing the new prices we just can't handle it. Our 6 and 7 year olds will NOT eat that much food (or us for hat matter) and while these meals make it easier to see the characters, you can actually see them in the parks as well. So now we know for sure we are cancelling one bkfast and my DH really wants to cancel both just on the princple of price gouging.

We're frustrated and not sure what to do. :confused3

goodness, i thought CM's was $27 per adult for breakfast and closer to $40 for dinner. that will likely change our plans as well, unfortunately

A few years ago, we ate at Chef Mickeys. There was a family ahead of us, when the CM told them the price the Dad said "let's go". The boys looked so sad. I wanted to tell them next time to get the dining plan.

Wow! That is a lot!

I'm so glad we've been able to upgrade from the free DDP to DxDDP because if we had to pay OOP we would definitely not go to all of these places.
