Chef Mickey's stays pretty lively and crowded all night long. We have frequently gone for a late dinner, the buffet has always been hot and fresh, they keep it replinshed constantly. Also, if you are still there say around 8:30 to 9:00, things have wound down and many of the characters will spend lots of time with you. There are a few tables in one section that have a view of the castle. Not sure how good they would be for viewing the fireworks, I have only been in that section at breakfast. Its pretty bright inside the restaurant so unless they dim the lights back there you might not be able to see anyway. And this is a very small section. We were seated in the next section over last year and I don't remember seeing anything that made me think people were watching the fireworks which would have been going on during our dinner. In any case, the best place to view Wishes is inside the Magic Kingdom anyway. We saw them from on top of the Contemporary at the California Grill's observation deck and I was disappointed even up there, that high, outside. So I think at Chef Mickey's, which is much lower they would be even more unspectacular. So you might ask the hostess when you check in if you can get a window side table but just know if you don't, you likely won't be missing much anyway. Have a great trip!
