Well me and my DH just decided we will be going to disney this month., I am so excited:cheer2: but the bad news is that chef mickeys is booked :sad2: ......I wanted to know if any one has ever tried going to chef mickeys with no reservation for breakfast. I am going the week of april 27 and obviuosly, chef mickeys is booked.
Do you think they will sit my family of three? Any advice?
My ds (5) loves that place.

well thanks in advance

I doubt you could get in without a reservation, but keep trying, and someone might cancel. Good luck!

Keep calling, even after you arrive at WDW. People do cancel.

Restaurants that have character meals generally don't save tables for walkups, they'll just turn you away if you don't have an ADR. Some folks have reported that they got in to Chef Mickey's without an ADR by arriving before it opened, and being right there at the podium when they were ready to start seating people. Even then, though, your chances are slim.

It can't hurt to try walking up, but continuing to call is definitely the better bet. The only thing that might make me hesitate to try getting in without an ADR is your 5-year-old. If he were waiting outside Chef Mickey's, seeing the characters and all the other kids having fun, and then you left without going in, it might be upsetting for him. :sad1:

Like the other posters said, keep calling. People cance. I just got Jiko reservations last minute because of a cancellation.

I would not go to Chef Mickeys without a reservation because you most likely will be turned away

I am calling every day ....I did get a reservation to cape may...but I was told mickey wont be there.....(DS favorite) and Donald another favorite.....
..... Your right that if I do go to chef mickeys and get turned down.... my son might get upset.....I am thinking to have my son and husband wandering somewhere in the hotel, while I go to see if they will sit us....
..
..I hope I can get lucky!!!! I was wondering if any one has ever walked in

Keep calling, you never know, but I probably wouldn't just walk up and try to get in unless you are staying at the CR

It was not for breakfast but a few years ago my family and I were able to walk in for dinner and waited about 40 minutes for our table. Since we were staying at the Contemporary waiting time was not a factor, within reason of course. At 1st we tried to get an ADR from the lobby Concierge desk expect we were told none were available, however it was the Cast Member suggested walking in. I am sure we got lucky to be seated and chances are that might not work today, still it has been done in the past and we are proof of that. Although I do agree it's best to keep calling since an ADR will guarantee you a table.

If want to try for a walk up try to be there when the resturant first opens at 4 (I think). More people tend to bow out of those earlier times than the later times.

If your son likes Donald and Mickey Mouse, what about the character breakfast at Tusker House in AK as an alternative if you can't get in Chef Mickey's? The characters are Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy I beleive. At least he could still see his favorite characters! Good luck! :goodvibes

yes I called today and after weeks of trying I also got a reservation at the tusker house in AK!!!!!! I am so happy...either way I wanted chef mickeys, but this will do......btw you said Daisy will be there? I have gone and I have never seen her....... She is my favorite!!!! I didnt know that

Anything is possible. We even got lunch at CRT last June without an ADR. I do think the CM at guest services was working a little magic though.

:cool1: Yes, Daisy is at the Safari Breakfast ever since it moved to Tusker House, a change from Breakfastosaurus. Daisy is my dd's favorite so we are so excited to be eating here in September! It is the only character meal with Daisy! Just keep trying for Chef Mickey's. Hopefully you'll get lucky! :wizard:

There is plenty to do on the 4th floor (where Chef Mickey's is). When you get off of the elevators, just have your DH & DS turn left to go to the gift shop/arcade area while you run over to Chef Mickey's. Your DS won't even know Chef Mickey's is over there unless you take him there where he can see it.

**I would probably only try this 1st thing, when they open. You might get a table then. Sometimes, families have transportation problems and don't get there on time at all for their ADR.

OP stated her DS5 loves Chef Mickey's, just like our little guy. He would know instantly that Chef Mickey's was right next door, heck he'd know when he saw the Contemporary! If you can't get CM's pick something else and be excited about it. Our little guy expects to go to CM's, but I know I could "sell" him on something else.

We went to a PHD dance party at MGM last summer and he absolutely loved that, more than I imagined. Consider the meal (B or L) at Hollywood and Vine. We had it and canceled during the trip (too full to eat another buffet :rotfl: ). It features the PHD characters, music, dancing and from all accounts I've read great CMs excellent character interaction.

If the OP's son loves Chef Mickey's maybe she should not take a chance to go as a walk-in, because what if they are turned away and he asks why did they not go to Chef Mickey's?

We've gotten in without a reservation for breakfast. I didn't call ahead to know that I couldn't get an ADR, and it was February (not a real busy time). We probably waited half an hour.

i decided i wanted to eat at chef mickey's while we were at wdw and of course there were no reservations available but the lady at the concierge desk told us to go as early as we could to try and get a table. we went on march 20th around 8am and were seated immediately. good luck!

I have walked in. first one there for breakfast you will get in, almost gauranteed. If you want dinner, call every morning at 7 am, you stand the best chance of getting your adr then because they are processed from the day before...
