Chef Mickey's vs. Liberty Tree

I have never been to either and am wondering about the quality of the food, atmosphere (for kids), location to parks and any other tid bits that you would like to ad!!

We've done both and probably would lean towards Chef Mickeys. DD liked it a lot better (more food for her to choose from). Most people love LTT, we found the food to be mediocre and too much like what we eat at home; boxed mac & cheese, stuffing, etc. The bread and the dessert were great though. I felt the characters were more rushed at LTT.

We always seem to do CM and not so much LTT - keep in mind that there will be no more characters at LTT after January, so that may make your decision easier. Also LTT is in MK and CM is at the Contemporary - just a short walk or monorail ride to MK.

We have done both places and I think you would prefer CMs. The food at LTT is more institutional type (frozen stouffer's mac & cheese) where CM is fresher and there is much more to choose from.

LTTavern has an adorable character DINNER,we love it cuz the characters are in colonial style costumes, makes for cute unique pic...........this chara DINNER will be closing soon........(we have ressies in mid Nov. so Its closing after mid Nov. ) sooooooooooooo..........Id make yourself ressies there while its still around, u can try the other choice next trip!

We are trying CM for breakfast this year, but if I had to compare dinners, we like LTT better.

I haven't had dinner at Chef Mickey's, but I know I didn't enjoy breakfast there. It was very loud and chaotic, which I expect with tons of kids, but it seemed over the top. The buffet was pretty gross, with syrup EVERYWHERE and the character interaction was less than stellar. However, Liberty Tree Tavern dinner is a must-do every trip. I'm so sad the characters are leaving after the first of the year. I love the food and I love the fact that it's not a buffet. Personally buffets aren't really my thing since the food is out in the open for everyone to possibly touch but with Liberty Tree Tavern you get the unlimited food (like a buffet) but brought to your table. The character interaction at LTT has always been super with the characters coming to our table at least twice. Also as far as location, it's right in the Magic Kingdom so it's nice if you're already in the park.

My vote is for LTT....CM just totally turns us off! The food is just not any good. We tried LTT last month and it was soooo good!

I love LTT!! The food is really good, and the characters are so cute in their colonial outfits. However, the characters are leaving in Jan.

Food is lousy at Liberty Tree Tavern. The best thing they serve is stouffer's premade mac&cheese.
You go for the characters, not the food there.

Chef Mic's is my all time Favotite We also have done LTT.
CM is a buffet. LTT is family style Thanksgiving meal. Both are good it really depends where you want to be.

I hated Chef Mickeys!!!!!!! Out of my 7 trips to WDW, Chef Mickeys is the only restaurant I was very disappointed in. The food was terrible! The characters were great, and the atmosphere in general was good, but the food was gross. I am in no way a picky eater either. Out of four adults not one of us liked the food at all! I did hear breakfast is better. We did do LTT and just loved it there. The food was great! I know it's the basics like turkey, mac and cheese, stuffing, ect, but that's what most kids like anyway! I vote for LTT!

Chef Mickey's is a must do everytrip either for a late Brunch or dinner.
Always fun and always great food. My family would stage a mutiny if I did not get an ADR here each trip.


LTT- Once was more than enough. Basically Frozen Stouffers meals that I could do at home much better.
Kids refuse to return here as does DH.
