Hi, first post here. This may sound dumb, but do you need to be staying on WDW site or planning your day at MK to eat in the Contemporary? I already planned a character meal for the day we are in MK and can't afford to do two, but would like to try Chef Mickey's another day.
Thanks

You can eat there anytime you want. You don't have to be staying on property or going to MK to eat there. We eat dinner there every trip to Disney. I really enjoy it. Hope this helps.

:welcome: to the Dis!
You can eat at Chef Mickey's at anytime. It is at the Contemporary Resort outside of MK, so you do not have to be at the park! Have fun!

:welcome: Chef Mickey's is so much fun!! We always do an early breakfast then head to Epcot for the day. Don't forget to take pictures and bring your autograph book!!

It is our family's tradition that we go there the day we arrive.
We usually arrive in orlandlo about 11a.m. and head for the resort.
We take a tour and/or swim and unpack and head to Chef Mickey's for dinner.
It is the best way to get you in the spirit for the week and then you get many autographs out of the way so you don't need to get them while in the parks. Since you can go anytime, and do not need a ticket to get in, I suggest going on a day when you are not in the parks.
I would also make priority seating because this is a very popular restaurant.
Enjoy!!:goodvibes

74 more days till the gomez gang hits chef mickey's !

Chef Mickeys is a great way to start or end your vacation. We are going there after our first day at the Magic Kingdom. We will walk to the Contempory. It only takes about seven or ten minutes to get there. The atmosphere is so much fun, we love it. It's all good.:thumbsup2

Like the other poster, we arrive at 10:30am and head to POR, unpack, swim and head over to Chef Mickey's. I made ADRs for 5:45 for my DS6 and I. I want to get the character greetings/seeings done all at once. It sounds like a good place too. I then hope to head over the MK via monorail (get that done, as that is part of the whole disney thing) and see what ride we can go on during parades (son does not like them nor fireworks). Can't wait!!!
