As for how making them at home compares to those at Chef Mickey's I can't say. The night we ate there everything was dried out & unappealing. However, my mother used to put Parmesan in her mashed potatoes before Walt even bought property in FL! Yum!
I have 2 versions of the recipe copied down & prefer the one with more cheese & less butter. I'd say go ahead & try them. The recipe is wonderful - even if you do have to make it yourself & won't see Mickey! You can always twirl your napkins, though.
Thanks for the advice. Sorry you didn't like Chef Mickey's. I go mostly for my kids not the food, but the potatoes I think are yummy!!
I will try it at home.

Peel the potatoes and cut into chunks and boil about 15 minutes until tender. Mash, using a potato masher or a heavy fork. Put back in the pot with the butter, cheese and milk. Blend well, adding salt and pepper to taste. (Do not use a food processor for this recipe.)
