I just tried to make a PS for Chef Mickeys, for our first night there. It is Wed. may 7th. They had no seatings till 8:15 for a party of four.
Do you think if we go without a priority seating, we will be able to get a table earlier ? Or should we just get the later table? My kids are 3 & 6.
Thanks for any thoughts you may have

My suggestion is to call back periodically. I've had the most luck calling two week prior to the date that I want a Chef Mickey's PS. I think they must hold some times back until then. We had exactly the same problem that you are experiencing for our trip last May. Two weeks out - magically a lot of times opened up starting at 5 p.m. I LOVE the 5 p.m. seating at Chef Mickey's. The restaurant is not very busy and the characters are much more energetic. I also thought the food was much fresher. I've also been told that you will probably get seated if you show up at 5 p.m. I haven't tried it but I can believe it after being there for an early seating. Chef Mickey's is our favorite character meal - have fun!

They always have some tables set aside for walk-ups. Get there at 5:00and you'll probably be able to be seated. I wouldn't try to show up at 6:00 though...it could be a two hour wait with hungry, cranky kids...not a good way to start a vacation. I'd plan a back up just in case.

I tried to get CM during a trip in January. OK, I was thinking slow time, no need for PS. WRONG. I tried to get in for any night for 6 nights and all I could get was 8:45 PM. So didn't do it. I tell folks every time I can, to get an early time for CM, you have to call early. I have my calendar marked for March 30th to make my ressie for July 28th. I won't miss out for my grandson's visit this year. I've gone late and prefer not to do it again. 5:00 has become the best time to go, with the food and characters being fresh (OK, sometimes Goofy is too fresh). I agree, try a walk up, you might luck out. I guess all it takes is a couple of large groups to book, unless travel agents are booking Chef Mickeys now, like they use to do for Cindi's.
