We are looking to do one character dinner. Would you recommend Chef Mickey's or Park Fare? The kids are 6 (boy), 4 (girl) and 2 (boy). Please include food and character interaction in your review. Thank you!

Our favorite place is Chef Mickeys. I believe you will see Mickey, Goofy, Minnie and I think Donald is there now also. Not sure about Chip and Dale. At Park Fare I think It is Cinderella, Prince Charming, her sisters and the Fairy Godmother. My son loves the food at Chef Mickeys and we love the atmosphere. We will celebrate his 18th birthday this year and he wants to eat at Chef Mickeys. We have been eating there since he was 14 months old and it is still his favorite.

If I were you, I'd definitely go with 1900 Park Fare. I just posted about our recent trip to Chef Mickey's and we were very disappointed (this trip it was breakfast though). We had dinner at PF and CM in 2009 and PF food was better. The character interaction was better overall at PF as well. The stepsisters and the stepmom were a riot! My family and I will not go back to CM ever actually. It's way too expensive for less than counter service quality food IMO. The only thing is, you can see Mickey and Friends at CM vs. the Cinderella family.

Both are a tradition for our family each year. We always do CM on our arrival day. I have never been impressed with the food. I just don't think that there is a very big selection, and what is there is pretty "just OK". My DH and DS enjoy the salmon. But for the characters! You won't find a better opportunity to see the fab 5. We always get great pis with them, and not having to wait in any lines to get these autographs (if that is important to you) is a plus. We've had them come to our table multiple times each trip. I always thought that 1900 had a better food selection. They have a set up with different food "themes" from Italian (love the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad) to chinese to salmon (but apparently with a different sauce?). I even like to eat off the kids buffet. The characters here are a hoot! It is so much fun to see the interaction with the step mother and sisters. They play their parts so well! They are both going to be loud and chaotic so expect that, but you can also have a good time at either. The one bad thing I've noticed about 1900 is we always have to wait quite a bit past our adr time to get in (sometimes up to an hour). HTH

We like the food slightly better at 1900 Park Fare, but nobody is really there for the food. It's all about the characters. And that's where 1900 Park Fare really shines, for us. At Chef Mickey's, you can do autographs and pictures, but there's really no interaction. At 1900 Park Fare, Cinderella and Prince Charming are a highlight for my daughter, and the stepsisters are absolutely hilarious!

If it were us, it would be a simple choice: 1900 Park Fare.

We did both - CM for breakfast though. Seeing the Fab 5 was a highlight, it was breakfast so the food was OK. 1900 Park Fare - even DH loved the character interaction. Eveil Stepmother - Lady Tremaine - hilarious Stepsisters, and a lot of choice on the buffet. We really enjoyed it.
