I couldn't find a reservation of Chef Mickey's breakfast the week after thanksgiving. I booked Ohana instead. We're staying at Polynesian resort.

But I like the characters better at Chef Mickey's. How many characters are there in the morning, is Mickey in his red attire or white chef outfit?I don't like Lilo and stitch.

Which food is better?

We have done both...CM's once,Best friends breakfast 6 times !!

So safe to say we prefer BFB.

Character wise its Mickey dressed in a hawaiian shirt,Pluto and Lilo and Stitch.

The kids get instruments and dance in a line around the restaurant.

The food at both is good but different,BFB is served on a platter to your table.
Usually breakfast fare, eggs, bacon, sausage and Mickey waffles.
The bread is realy nice as is the fruit juice.

Like I said we prefer BFB,we dont feel so rushed and it just seems more relaxed.

If you stick with your ressie I think you will enjoy it.:)

I have been to Ohana dinner, and I like it. I know Chef Mickey can be hectic.
How about food there, is it really bad?

What kind of Fruit juice is serviced at Ohana.

i'm not sure about the juice, but I can say that having been to both I've found that the food quality is MUCH better at 'Ohana. Plus, its much more calm and more time with the characters.. we felt rushed at CM.

What do you mean by rushed? Do the characters come to your table at all?

How does it compare to Crystal palace? I like the characters at CP.

Maybe I'll stick with Ohana.

Ohana! They bring the all you can eat food to you , so no worrying about making trips to the buffet. The juice is POG juice- Passionfruit, orange, guava. Its sooooo good! The chairs there are super super comfortable to! Very relaxing!

We liked the food better at 'Ohana, plus the juice was very tasty. There were 7of us at a nice round table. The waiter kept bringing out more food when he saw we were getting low, and the kids had fun with the parade. The atmosphere was great.

We prefer CM. The food was good and we had a bigger selection than at Ohana. I didn't feel rushed at all, the characters all spent a good amount of time w/our boys. I had plenty of time to get a lot of pictures w/each character.

I didn't like having to wait for our server to fill up the food bowls & platters. If they are busy, then you'll need to wait. At the buffet, we were able to go up whenever we wanted.

Yes, CM was a lot busier but we were seated kinda in the middle room and I never had a problem w/the amount of people.

I was not able to get a resie when I called but the night before I stopped at Town Hall in MK and was able to get resies the next morning to CM! Needless to say we changed our days around for going to the beach.

I would definately do CM on our future trips.

We overwhelmingly prefer the Ohana character breakfast. I find the character interaction better. The food is family style and is better than CM's IMHO! They have great bread and coffee!! :worship:

We really didn't care much for Chef Mickey's when we were there, poor character interaction; they seemed like they were just going through the motions. While it is a typical Disney buffet it seemed liek the food was not up to the usual quality!

I'm sure you'll have fun whichever you choose, it is Disney right!!:wizard:

Another vote for O'hanas. Although we do love the characters at CM's, you do feel really rushed. The biggest problem for me was going through the buffet and trying to fix you own plus your small children's plates and worrying that a character may come to the table while you are in the buffet line. We do feel like we had more time with each character at O'hanas. Pluto even got on the floor and tried to sniff us! One other negative to CM's is the cost. We went in May and spent $28 for breakfast for adults, which I think is entirely too much for a breakfast character experience. You would probably pay only $18 or $19 at O'hanas.

We have done both breakfasts twice. Definitely like Ohana better than CM, no question.

The food at Ohana is great, it's terrible at CM...terrible. And I am NOT a picky person in fact I usually prefer buffets. This one though...no.

My kids love it though so we'll continue to eat there. But still, Ohana is much better meal and overall experience, IMO.

Well we've done the Chef Mickey Dinner and Breakfast, so we can say we did it. Both were "OK". The kids loved the characters. This trip we didn't book it and aren't heartbroken. Its so busy. The buffet gets dirty and sometimes the food is cold. Plus its so crowded.

Ohana Breakfast is actually our favorite character meal. We just booked our 3rd time there. The characters are Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. they are in hawaiin shirts and they give the kids a lot of attention.

There is a parade with instruments if the kids like that. If not, no biggie.

When my daughter and I went just the 2 of us - I think Pluto visited her about 5 times. The 2 of them just kept playing and playing together. We had a later breakfast time, so it wasn't as hectic.

The food is family style in a big skillet/pan on the table and they refill as you need it. Also, they are very good with food allergies there and made my son his very own "safe" mickey waffles so he wasn't left out. The juice is really yummy (a tropical blend) and the coffee is fresh vs the bad coffee you get at Chef Mickeys. We like how the family is all sitting together and we don't need to do the buffet trips which can be a pain with the kids.

Definitely a vote for Ohana!

Put one more down for Ohana's! We did Chef Mickey's last year and were very disappointed. The character interaction was lack luster and food was nothing to write home about. We absolutely LOVE Ohana's. The food was a thousand times better and the characters were much better. Mickey has on his Hawaiian shirt and Pluto is there as well. Lilo and Stitch are the focus but there is so much more to enjoy to let that keep you away. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Yet another for Ohana's... I was able to go with 2 of my bff's last Sept and LOVED it!! It was one of the best Character meals that I have been to and so over looked. I don't know people don't know it is there or how good it is but they are missing out. The characters interacts with everyone not just children. That is what I loved. Sometimes at some of the other Character meals the characters would just stop by and a couple of times completly overlooked our table that was just filled with adults.. (That happened to me another time with a couple of out of town friends) The food is also SO much better.. SO much.. LOVE it.. I like not having to go up to a buffet that isn't always kept full and clean but is brought to our table. When we were there it was steady but yet our server was on top of everything. They have more servers there because of the fact that it is family style (JMO) so the service is better!! LOVE IT.. I would definatly keep ther ressie that you have.. It will just add on to the excitement of your resort.. It keeps right with the theme!!
