We might (emphasis on might) be going to Disney again sometime...we were interested in one of these...which had better food, which had the most character interaction, which was quieter and which was overall best? :)

Thank you.

Edit: I should note we are talking about dinner, and that getting up to get our food is not an issue :)

We did Chef Mickey's for breakfast and it was good. The food wasn't great, but it was okay. My kids liked it because there was a lot of sweet stuff to eat. It wasn't quiet, but I remember that every so often they would have everyone wave their napkins while music was playing, but this was part of the fun. When we went, the characters came by our table twice. My kids liked it a lot. We are trying Chef Mickey's for dinner this year.

We also go to Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner every year. I think it is a little bit quieter that Chef Mickeys, but that is just my opinion. When we eat here, we have had the characters come by our table twice. I really like the food here. It's nice to eat here too because the food is different than most places.

I guess if I had to pick between the two it would be Liberty Tree Tavern. We have never had a bad experience at either place. We have always had good character interaction at both places too.

I've eaten DINNER at both.

LTT is definitely quieter. It is also pre-plated so you do not have to get up.

It has Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale, and Pluto.

My family does NOT like the Stouffers-type food.

Chef Mickey's is fun and can be loud. Every so often they sing a Mickey song and we all spin our napkins.

Its a great buffet, IMHO, as buffets go.

It has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale and Pluto and sometimes Donald and sometimes even Daisy. One will be at the entrance for greeting; it usually either Goofy or Donald.

So if you want quite, then LTT.
If you want to not have to get up for your food, then LTT.

If you want to see Mickey, then Chef Mickey's.

If you want good food, well, that's a matter of taste and opinion but my family would pick Chef Mickey's hands down.

I personally think that CM is a better overall disney experience. It is loud, it's a typical Disney buffet, but we sure have a blast there. The kids don't have to stay seated, they can be loud, they can dance, etc.

LTT was much more subdued. The food reminds me Thanksgiving.

I like them both, as we are going back to both in July, but they are very different.

Good luck choosing

We ate at LTT and loved every minute of it. When you walk into the restaurant it is like stepping back in time to the Colonial days. It is a very quiet restaurant with a lot of character interaction. All the characters came to our table and then came back around for a second time. Also the food was awesome, we went for dinner and that is more of a Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings  . We have ADRs to eat at CM in June, I have heard a ton of good reviews for the dinner there. My Dbro and his fiance went to CM back in Feb. and highly recommended it since we have kids. I can't wait! :cheer2:

We do not like the food at CM, and we cannot handle a loud restaurant, so that's another reason we don't do CM.

Love LTT, but only do lunch, so can't comment on the pre-plated Thanksgiving meal. The lunch menu is wonderful, but no characters at lunch.

We are doing BOTH in December!

* Have only done CM in the past and loved it, but have only good things about LTT, so we decided to include both!:thumbsup2

I would go to LTT. I like the idea of having a traditional turkey dinner in the middle of the Magic Kingdom! :thumbsup2

We've done both & both are wonderful.

It's hard to compare them, because they are 2 very different experiences.

LTT - quiet & pre-plated
CM - loud & buffet

We always do both for dinner each trip.
Excellent food at both also.

If I had to just pick one for my family, we'd go to Chef Mickey's..just because it's got such a fun atmposphere.

FYI, Chip and Dale no longer appear at CM's. it's my understanding fab 5 is pretty standard fare.

My pick is for Chef Mickey's. We had dinner there in December and met Mickey, minnie, goofy, donald, and pluto. It was a lot of fun, but we thought the buffet selection was small compared to your average buffet. I've never eaten at LTT though, so I can't compare.

I have eaten at both restaurants for dinner. When we go in Nov 2007, we are eating at both.

LTT -
I think that the Character interaction at LTT is good, they came around twice! I really enjoy the food at LTT. Another plus is that it is right inside the park. LTT is quieter and the tables are closer together then CM, IMO.

CM -
The major draw for me here is the Roast Beef and Parmesan Mashed Potatoes. That's all I eat here at the buffet. Character interaction is good and the songs are fun too. Loud but good.

I like dinner at both places. But if I had to pick one it would be LTT. Especially if you are in the MK already. It's fun but you can relax a little at the same time. I liked the food and the service and characters are great!

But I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Terri

We've eaten at both numerous times. The last time we were at LTT was during the MNSSHP and it was a lot of fun. The character interaction was great and our service was excellent (however the year before we were there and I guess since we were six adults the charaters hardly came by our table and the service was slow). The food here is really good (we especially like the roast beef). CM is FUN! The food is good and the character interaction is excellent.

If you want MICKEY - it's got to be CM!
