Ok, i'm obviously not trying to compare the food here, but I need help in deciding which place to choose.

We have never been to Chef Mickey's, but when I first booked our trip back in Aug., I scored a 4:15 PM dinner there.

Almost everday since then, i've been trying to get an ADR for Le Cellier. I finally found one for 7:15 PM, but would have to cancel Chef Mickey's. We have been to Le Cellier for lunch, but not dinner.

I'm torn with which one to keep. With a 5yr old daughter and an almost 2 yr old son, I would feel guilty with cutting out Mickey. At the same time, I doubt we will do Le Cellier again since they will be switching over to premium dining (we always use the dining plan).

Our current ADR's are:
12/15 - Crystal Palace
12/16 - Mama Melrose
12/17 - Tusker House
12/18 - Chef Mickey's or Le Cellier
12/19 - Tutto Italia

Thoughts?

Here are my thoughts.

You are already doing 2 character meals for the kids, the trip basically revolves around them as well.
Why not take this ONE meal and enjoy it for yourself? You deserve it right?

Take the LeCellier adr and DON'T feel guilty, it is your vacation to after all.

The kids have EVERYTHING else. ;)

Since CM is tough to get too, and you have kids of the perfect age, I would recommend CM. The food there is better than people say, I always enjoy it.

Le Cellier I find overrated and while it's not bad for kids, it's not great for little kids either. IMHO.

As for Le Cellier switching to premium -- it will still be on the dining plan but you'd need two credits next year with the regular dining plan. So conceivably you could still go there in the future, but you'd need more credits for it.

I like Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but am not a fan of their dinner buffet. I'd cancel in a minute and go with Le Cellier.

Yes, you are already doing other character meals so I would go with Le Cellier. Its a hard to get reservation and the cheese soup is the die for. Enjoy!!!

Well, for me it would be a very easy decision - I won't step foot in Chef Mickey's - tried twice - noisy, dirty, bad, cold food - won't waste another penny there and I think Mickey is embarrassed to be associated with the place.
Having said that, I liked Le Cellier just fine, but it wasn't everything it was hyped up to be for me...
I'd go the Le C though - you'll enjoy it and the kids will probably get to see Mickey at the Tusker House breakfast - he's been there very time we've gone.

Honestly, Chef Mickey's was not a good experience for our group last trip. The food was ok, the characters practically ran by, it was noisy, and the service was not up to "disney standards". All in all, very disappointed. We will not be going back. I much prefer the buffet at Tusker House anyways.
Le Cellier, is an adventure for your palate! Totally yummy, great atmosphere and wonderful service.
I say no to CM and a great big yes to LeCellier!
I could be a bit bios though, I am canadian! ;)

Is your tusker house breakfast? If so Mickey is there! Problem solved! Hopefully its that easy! lol! If not I would say def cut CM Le Cellier is disney for adults! Treat yourself!!! Enjoy whatever you do!! good luck!!:goodvibes

I would recommend Chef Mickey's because each time we have been there for dinner it was a great experience with the characters, plus we didn't find their food to be bad at all.

I would choose Chef Mickey's. We tried Le Cellier once when I had 2 kids about your ages, and we ended up leaving before we even ordered. It is so boring in there with little ones, we went to Sunshine Seasons. We still go to Chef Mickey's every trip. The photo ops just can't be beat, and we like the food. Buffets are ideal with kids.

I love Chef Mickey's and have never been to LeCellier (and really want to), and since you already have Crystal Palace and Tusker, I would recommend Le Cellier. 2 character meals is enough for one trip!

If you've got kids that can sit through dinner, Le Cellier by a mile. If not, then the kids will get a kick out of CM and go there. For us, CM is a must per trip just because it beats standing in line to see the fab 5. But for our family, Le Cellier is a must per trip too. I've got girls, 8 and 5. We've been going for the past 4 years, and they do well at LC - and my 8 yr old has ADD, so it is do able.

We love them both and would hate to miss either, but if I could only pick one it would definitely be Le Cellier - but my kids love steak. :thumbsup2

One good thing is that your kids have never been to Chef Mickey's, so they won't know what they are missing. :flower3:

Definately Le Cellier. We have been to CM for both breakfast and dinner, the breakfast was much better than the dinner IMHO, but at both times we felt we were rushed by both the characters and our server. At Le Cellier, it is more of a relaxed and quiet atmosphere, don't get scared by what I said, my girls have gone there 3 times already and it is one of their favorite places to eat, in fact my youngest DD wants to have her B-day lunch there. Also, just an FYI, Le Cellier will only be going to a 2 credit status for dinner, it will be staying a 1 credit for lunch so you can still go there and not spend a lot of credits doing so.

I would only recommend CM for breakfast. Unless I was staying in the contemporary I would never go out of my way for CM for lunch or dinner.

What are your plans for that day. If you are going to be at EPCOT i would stick with L'cellier but imo it is seriously overrated.

from your dining it looks like you have alot of buffets so of the two choices and considering you are going to other character meals I would stick with L'cellier

I'd go with LeCellier. It is so good!

As for CM I've never ate there but hope to this trip. Maybe you can get lucky & find a lunchtime or breakfast CM before you go & do it OOP.

These are the two resturaunts that my kids both still talk about. From our trip last year. I loved Le Cellier and would book it twice next time. But Chef Mickey is by far a favorite for the kids.
