We have done CM for dinner, but have never tried Garden Grill. Can anyway share their thoughts on this one?? I need a good boy character meal for my son and good food for my hubby!

We have never done Chef Mickeys but we did Garden Grill on our last trip. We LOVED it. Of course it is Family Style (all you care to eat, but brought to the table) as opposed to buffet style, therefore there aren't as many food choices, but I liked it because it seemed smaller and a little more intimate. It could very well be just because of the way the dining room is set up. Either way, we really loved it. And the character interaction was great. We saw all of the characters 2 or 3 times.

We have done both and our favourite is Garden Grill. We loved it!! We thought the food was lovely and very fresh. The character interaction was great! They spent a long time with us and visited 3 times. Chip and Dale were so funny and my two boys who are 8 and 6 really had a blast.:thumbsup2

I can most definately recommend it to you.:goodvibes

Thanks all! Does anyone have any recent dinner pictures from Garden Grill?

I have pictures. I just need to upload them and I will post them for you.:thumbsup2

Thanks I would really appreciate that. Right now we have an ADR for CM because the kids love that place...DH is so-so about it which is why I am considering GG.

Thanks everyone! And I also look forward to seeing those pictures!

Done both and love both.:lovestruc GG is quieter(no swinging napkins) and more calm(family style not buffett). Character interaction is great there and the food is a step up from the typical character meal food. We loved it.:thumbsup2

between the two, my family would pick Chef Mickey.
While we like the calmness of Garden Grill and the Character interaction, we did not like the food as much.
The food was to plain for us. The best thing seemed to be the salad.

done both, love both, but I think Chef Mickey's wins out for me.

I've gone as a family and as 2 adults. Every time, we have an amazing time, love the Character interaction.

on our last trip we had a late ADR and was worried about food quality and character interaction, there was NOTHING to worry about!

the food was wonderful and fresh, and the characters were crazy! We got to see them 5 or 6 times each and the interaction was much more fun then if we had gone at a busier time. Most of them (except Minnie I think ) even did the robot with my sister:rotfl:

this is the 1 place that we've visited every trip

Just testing my pics of the Garden Grill as I am having trouble uploading them.

Oh great it worked! I shall do the rest for you.

My family and I have been to Chef Mickey's a few times for dinner and each time was a good experience, so I would recommend going there.

Heres more.:thumbsup2

Chip and Dale were so funny, one of them really wanted the mac'n'cheese and he stayed staring at it for ages. One of my boys offered him some fries and he nodded. He then pretended to eat them. Then one of them, I forget which, was sliding along the wall in slow motion which was really funny.

It is easily our favourite character meal now and we have pretty much done them all apart from the Princess ones.:thumbsup2

We haven't been to Chef Mickey's for dinner (went for breakfast) and the food was good, but the character interaction was HORRIBLE. We ate at Garden Grill for dinner and the characters were fabulous! The dinner was okay, but our waitress was horrible!

My kids, then ages 7 and 10, loved the Garden Grill so much that it was their first request when we went to make our ADRs this year. I thought the food was good and the character interaction was great. The restaurant rotates so you can see Living with The Land, an added bonus!

When we were there, the kids had a "decorate your own cupcake" dessert option. My daughter asked if that was also all you can eat :goodvibes , the CM checked (she'd never been asked that question) and it was! Of course, by the time she finished half of the first cupcake she was too full to even contemplate another.

We love GG - at CM, I feel like you have to rush to the buffet and back and hope you don't miss a character and i feel like the restaurant is so big that you only get a few seconds with the characters. At GG - the characters have always come around a couple of times and really spent time with us. Plus I think their food is WAY better.

We aren't going this trip and seeing the pics made me sad b/c that has always been one of our favorite meals!!!

I haven't been to CM, but we REALLY enjoyed our GG dinner in Dec, as our first-ever character meal. Only tried it because it was on the Candlelight Processional package, and we were so pleased!

Characters were great, and seemed to have plenty of time at each table. Chip and Dale are especially big cut-ups... Dale went rambling through our packages, and "ate" our Mickey Shortbread Cookies from UK, and later Chip became very upset that with all the characters on my shirt, HE was not represented!

The food was very fresh, tasty, and a honestly a treat from our other park meals, because it was basic home-style food, and plenty of it. :thumbsup2

Good luck with your planning!
