Chef Mickey's or Donald's Breakfastosaurus?

We had originally planned to do both of these on our trip in Feb, but now decided to only do one. I adore Donald, but DBF adores food. It's just the two of us adults. He's never been to WDW, and I've never done a character meal ever. Any input?

Note: I'm allergic to eggs. Which one has better/more options for me that don't include eggs? I've read the menus at allears and seen pictures, but it's hard to get a good idea without getting input from people that have done it, you know?

I have done both and enjoyed both.
With that being said, Chef Mickey's has the better options.
One other to consider is 1900 Park Faire, which is at the GF on the monorail.

I would go with Chef Mickey's since it's on the Monorail and your DBF has never been to WDW. Donald was there when we had dinner in July.

While I strongly prefer Donald's Breakfastosaurus for breakfast, your egg allergy rules that out. I agree with 1900 Park Faire and also offer Cape May Buffet as venues with very nice food choices. Now if you don't need characters, there's Boma and also Fresh as great breakfast choices.

Oh and we left out Lilo and Stitch at Ohana. Never been there, maybe others can comment.

For a first ever character meal, Crystal Palace (with Winnie the Pooh and Friends) inside the Magic Kingdom is a lot of fun, and offers better food than Chef Mickeys IMHO. The atmosphere at CM can get absolutely frenetic with excited children, napking twirling and just plain noise. That said, many DISers love it.

I think I'm going to go with Breakfastosaurus, because I want to know that I will see him there and be able to get a picture (last picture of me and Donald was when I was 7....need one twenty years later!) I can make a decent breakfast from bagels, sausage, bacon, homefries or some kind of potato side, fruit, etc. I just don't want DBF to be disappointed in the selection of egg stuff and other traditional breakfast food, since it's his favorite meal of the day! And he's a big kid himself, so kids won't bother him. I have no desire to see Pooh characters (though they are cute and all), I am just such a fan of the classic :mickeyjum :donald: :goofy: pluto: (there should be a jumping Pluto!) DBF loves loves loves Stitch (I told you he's a big kid), so Ohana would be great, but the selection is just not great from what I see on allears. It basically revolves around the eggs, it seems. We're gonna end up paying OOP for some TS meals, I can tell already! Too many options!

Are adults able to eat from the kids selections at a buffet? I've seen pictures of "kids choices" such as chicken fingers, mac and cheese (not breakfast, obviously...but this is a general question). The mac and cheese always looks sooo good to me and I'd love to try it!
