Which is better in terms of food?

I know the big difference is characters: CM is Mickey, Chip, Dale, etc and CP is Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, etc.

But I want to know who has better atmosphere and food. Which do your kids enjoy better? And which seems to acknowledge a child's b-day?

Breakfast, I prefer Crystal Palace

Dinner, they are about equal when it comes to food.

Crystal Palace is a beautiful restaurant.

Chef Mickey's is festive but not the greatest atmosphere and maybe a bit louder than CP. It's alright though.

You can't go wrong with either one, IMHO. It's a toss up.

I must admit...I've only been to CP for breakfast, so I can't really comment on the food, but I think the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's just can't be beat. It's just so Disney-ish, with the monorails whizzing through and that great big Contemporary lobby.
And, yes, I'm one of those suckers swinging a napkin and yelling "PARTY!" during the celebration part with the characters. Little kids love that too...older kids may be a little embarassed about it... I wouldn't know about birthdays, but once my Mom requested the Chef Mickey's have this paticular mini banana tart when we went there. It turns out they didn't make the mini tarts anymore, so instead they made her a GIANT tart, like the size of pie, and they gave us the whole thing. YUM.
Also, I seem to recall that CP was more crowded w/ the tables...

We have been to both for both breakfast and dinner.... we like Crystal Palace for breakfast and Chef Mickey for dinner.... the character interaction at CP for breakfast is alwayas great.... it is a much "prettier" establishment but we did not care for the food at dinner.... as far as Chef Mickey's... dinner is festive...loud and lots of fun for kids....the food is pretty good also....better than CP in my opinion.... my kids are 14 and 17 and love both!!!

We have ressies for both this trip. Kids love CM so much that had to make sure it was included.

We are going to Crystal Palace for dinner on our first night, mainly because it is a tradition, however we are also trying Chef Mickey's for breakfast. To celebrate a birthday I recommend Crystal Palace. It seems to be more festive.

My DD3 enjoys CM more than CP. The character interaction is wonderful, and it's close enough to MK to be convenient. I lke the food at both.

My niece had a birthday at CP, Piglet delivered a free birthday cake.

One table service.

We are doing Chef Mickeys for dinner and Crystal Palace for breakfast..

We have done both for breakfast and for dinner. Wasn't all that impressed with CM's for breakfast. LOVED CM's for dinner. Character interaction is awesome there. Not that CP isn't good, but CM's really stood out for the characters.

CP was great though for both breakfast and dinner. It is a much more elegant looking resturaunt. CM's is louder, more wide open. Breakfast food is better at CP in my opinion. Dinner at each is about the same. Though DW says she could eat at CM's every night. Love the carving station.

Next trip we are definately doing CP. Most likely CM's too. But both will probably be for dinner.

Just adding my two cents..

Chef Mickey's for breakfast...We did it for dinner and weren't really crazy about it. We felt rushed through our meal and the food was just okay. We will definitely do CM for breakfast next time as we hear it is just great.

Crystal Palace for dinner. We love it, never a bad experience.

CP seems more refined and CM is more... maybe interactive? If your child is turning 6 then I would probably go to CM's.

^_^

Crystal Palace has better food hands down. We ate there for dinner and it was the best character meal food by far. Chef Mickey's is loud and the food (breakfast is better than dinner) is alright. My kids like both. CP is a really pretty restaurant.

We ate at CP for the first time this past trip and my kids (all 4 of them) did not really like much of the food - it was too "different" for their tastes. They like the choices at CM much better. I also think the character interaction at CM is wonderful and the kids love when they play the music and they get to wave their napkins around!
