I was wondering which restaurant for breakfast that you guys prefer... Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. I don't really have a preference for characters. I would like to be in the Magic Kingdom before it opened, but if I can't get an 8am reservation, is it still worth it to go at 9?

Thanks!

I love the Chef Mickeys breakfast!
They have amazing pancakes, french toast, and cheese blintz :)
That said i have never been to the Crystal Palace breakfast but i love their dinner/lunch and i am sure it is amazing (This is disney we are talking about :rotfl:)

I prefer Crystal Palace. I really enjoy the omlet station and all the other food.

Can you get an early ADR at Chef Mickey's?

When I can't get an early CP ADR I go for a late breakfast instead. But you also keep trying. I wanted an early ADR for our first day 7/19 and at first couldn't get it. I kept trying for weeks and it opened up!

I could eat Crystal Palace for breakfast EVERY DAY.
CP Atmosphere trumps that at CM.

I haven't been to Chef Mickey's, but we LOVE Crystal Palace for breakfast!!! We did it on our last trip and have decided that it is the one TS restaurant we must do on every visit. It's such a great way to start the trip (we did it on our first day there, 8:05 reservation). We're going in December and I can't get an 8:05 ressie right now, so I think we'll go for a late breakfast instead.

Crystal Palace 100x over Chef Mickey's. Getting into the MK prior to the official park opening is reason enough, but we love the food, the atmosphere and the characters at Crystal Palace. We felt the food the last time at CM's had gone down and the service left a lot to be desired.

I ate at both on our last trip, Chef Mickey's was 100xs better. I wasn't too thrilled about how CP handled DD's peanut allergy, "you may want to stay away from the fruit b/c its by granola and it has nuts in it." Well could you give me some fruit in the back thats not by granola?
Chef Mickey's the chef gave DD food from the kitchen, not the buffet line so there was no risk of cross contamination, I am going to ask for this in Aug from every buffet we go to.

And the food was much better at Chef Mickey's, I think it had more choices as well.

Both Crystal Palace & Chef Mickey's breakfasts are favorites of ours and we do both on our trips. However, if we had to pick one, we would pick Crystal Palace - especially love the puffed french toast :worship:

We went to breakfast at both places last December. We really do enjoy both equally, although as far as characters go, I like CM better. Since you don't care about characters, I'd say if you can get an early ressie at CP before the park opens, then that's the way to go.....total advantage to having breakfast there...Depending on where you sit at CM makes a big difference there....I like sitting up in that back room.....we had that area for dinner last time and it was great.....atmosphere not as good in middle of main dining room.

Both are great places for breakfast! We eat at around 10am and love that time as well. We use to eat ate CM's for breakfast all the time...love the swinging of your napkins when they sing "celebrate" We use to go in early and then exit MK at 10 to go to CM's for breakfast and then switch parks or go visit the resorts on the monorail. Lately we have been staying in MK and going to Crystal Palace. It's a win win situation so don't worry:cloud9:

If no preference of characters, then definitely Chef Mickey's.

...and in addition to CP, I would definitely recommend the breakfast buffet at AK Tusker House over Chef Mickey's any day! Our favorite character dining experience of any parks.

I vote for Crystal Palace. I was a die hard, 'let's do Chef Mickey's to kick off our day' person until last year. We went last August and the characters took forever to get to us. We had a 7:30 Ressie and didn't get out until 9:00am...it took that long to see all the characters. Then we went in January of this year. This was our last breakfast before our flight. The characters still took a while to get to us...we really didn't care since we were just getting on a flight. BUT when they did get to us, it was a rushed sign the autograph book, pose for a picture and leave. We had my DD3 and my friends DD3 and DS5 with us. The five year old asked "what's wrong with Goofy?" He noticed how fast Goofy left and left the other tables. We told him that maybe Goofy didn't feel well. At tusker house, Mickey, Goofy, Daisy all posed, played around with the kiddos GREAT breakfast!! I feel that Chef Mickey's has become insanely popular in the last couple of years that the characters are having to rush to see everyone. Hope this helps!

My advice comes from many years of experience eating at CP and Chef Mickeys on every trip.

Here is how we do it now. We make reservations for 10:30 breakfast at the Crystal Palace. If the park opens at 8am then we have a granola bar or something at the hotel to hold us over.

We get to the park at rope drop, grab fastpasses for splash and space, ride the fantasy land people eaters like peter pan and snow white. Then head to breakfast hungry and in need of a break after going at breakneck speed to start the day.

Now you are sitting in nice AC enjoying breakfast and characters meanwhile you have knocked out all the long lines in the park. In my opinion it is by far the best plan we have come up with.

That sounds like a good plan!

I so have to agree with this!!! love Crystal Palace! The pmlet station & the bbreakfast lasagna are enough to make me drool thinking about it:goodvibes

We really enjoy both and I always say if you can give CM a try, it is worth the visit as far as character meals go. However if I could only pick one, it would be CP without a doubt.
