Chef Mickey's or Cape May?

We've done both for breakfast and for dinner. If you are talking about breakfast, we prefer Cape May, but we would do Chef Mickey's if Cape May (or our favorite -- Crystal Palace) were not available. For dinner, we will not go back to Chef Mickey's. Mediocre food at best, the restaurant was filthy, the service not very good. Cape May is a great buffet dinner (and one of only two lunch and/or dinner buffets we will do at Disney, the other being Biergarten). However, there are no characters at the Cape May dinner (but they do have crab legs :)).

We found the character interaction to be much better at Cape May Cafe for breakfast over Cheff Mickey's (the characters spent a lot more time with you and oten draw on the tablecloth for the kids).

Oh you are going to get big thumbs down on the food from Chef Mickeys, but a big thumbs up from chacter Interaction, maybe the best as far as the "Fab five" goes. I think Its worth It (at least for Breakfast) from both prespectives. Food,Its breakfast eggs,Beacon hash browns Its not the Best, but Its filling and we enjoy it. The Chacters on the other hand are great they make It a point to make It to all the tables and Interact great even with the older(ok much older:rotfl2:) kids. Sorry I can not give you a report on cape may, I have herd there food Is better, but the chacters vary, but again I have not been there so I would not be one to speak for CM,someone will come along and have better reviews of CM and ones for CM. Might want to try both, we are doing Chef Mickeys and crystal palace, and Donalds safari breakfast at AK.

I would say go to whichever is more convenient. There isn't a big difference IMO.

I would say I like the character interaction better at Chef Mickeys. I thought the food was fine. I liked the desserts!

There is nothing extremely special about the food at Cape May breakfast. I can't stand the smell of seafood, so I personally wouldn't/couldn't eat at Cape May for dinner.

I've done both, but Chef Mickey's was 10 years ago, and Cape May was last year. We *loved* Cape May and would consider it a "must do" for Character Dining.

If memory serves, Chef Mickey's is much more hectic and loud and busy than Cape May. Cape May is very laid back and mostly quiet and just "nice" and relaxed.

If you just gotta see Mickey, then you want Chef Mickey's. But if you can live with just seeing Minney, Pluto and Donald, then Cape May is a great place.

This next time we'll be doing Chef Mickeys and Cape May.

We've been to both several times, more to Chef Mickey's than Cape May. We have gone to Chef Mickey's on every family trip, but this time we are choosing Cape May over Chef Mickey's because:

1. Cape May has a more relaxed atmosphere, Chef Mickey's (while fun) is a little frantic
2. The kids love drawing with crayons on the table covering while waiting for the characters at Cape May. The characters have sat and drawn with our kids before, which is really fun.
3. We have had MUCH better service at Cape May than at Chef Mickey's on multiple occasions (the service at Chef M's was really bad the past 2 visits)
4. It is a great start to your day, and then you can walk out of the Beach Club and visit Epcot or the Boardwalk

My family and I have been to Chef Mickey's a few times for dinner and found nothing wrong with their food, service from the Cast Members and the character interaction was great.

Okay here comes my biased opinion :lmao: I have never had a bad experience at Chef Mickeys, I go there several times a year with family & solo If you have little kids the interaction there is especially wonderful. Chef Mickeys on these boards are usually a love it or hate it from posters. I have never found the place to be anything but clean, the food is replenished constantly, etc...if I were you I would look at the menus on the Disney web site & then decide...its like anything else you really have to experience & then decide for yourself
