Im torn as to where to go! Its a DHS or EPCOT day so it makes sense to go to cape may and I have heard great things about Cape May. On the other hand Chef mickeys is classic, plus this is my moms vote. My hubby and brother could careless! What do you think is better? We have never been to either.
Chef Mickeys
Pros
Chef Mickey!, Classic, mom votes for chef mickeys
Cons
out of the way for the days plans, Ive heard some bad reviews
Cape May
Pros
Perfect location, Ive heard its disneys hidden gem
Cons
Seafood(wondering if that leaves enough of a selection for those of us who dont like seafood which is 85% of our group ), No Mickey

What should I do??????????????? TIA!!!!!:goodvibes

I guess it would depend how important seeing Mickey is to your group. If it is very important, go with Chef Mickey's and then take the monorail over to Epcot. If Mickey is not as important, then I would say Cape May and walk over to Epcot or take the boat to DHS. I believe you were thinking of breakfast, if that is the case they both will have typical breakfast offerings. The seafood buffet is for dinner. I have been to both and I personally enjoyed the more laid back feeling at Cape May...but missed Mickey (we ended up visiting him at DHS).

My family just thoroughly enjoyed both breakfasts 2 weeks ago. I don't think you'll be disappointed in either. Chef Mickey's is just a little out of the way b/c it's on the Monorail.

FYI, Cape May doesn't serve seafood for breakfast except for Lox. The dinner is a Clam Bake, but breakfast is not dedicated to seafood.

If you are going to Epcot and HS, you can see Mickey in at least 3 different places that I can immediately think of.

That being said, I would choose Cape May. I think the food is better and it is certainly more laid back. But I would never make a decision based on others' negative feedback. Plus, if the majority of your family wants Cape May or is indifferent, that seems to be the better choice for you.

If it were us, Cape May Cafe would win hands down. We've not been impressed the last couple of visits to Chef Mickey's (although breakfast is definitely better than dinner). Cape May Cafe we found the food to be much better, a cleaner restaurant and better character interaction. Cape May is our second favorite character breakfast (after Crystal Palace).

If you are would be doing MK, then I would say Chef Mickey's. Since you are doing DHS or Epcot, definately do Cape May. A nice boat ride after breakfast to the parks completes the morning. The breakfast has all the normal fare anyone would eat. We always try to do the first setting of the day.

I would say Cape May also. We've been there twice and each time its been very clean and the food good. Maybe it was during a busy time or they were short staffed but when we went to Chef Mickey's the food area and sitting area were on the dirty side. I don't know where you are staying but if its not around the Beach Club going to that area around Boardwalk, BC, YC is a fun thing to do also.

I'd say Cape May hands down but the characters are only there for breakfast and seafood is only at dinner. Aside, from that it's a great breakfast location for DHS and EPCOT park days, the food is fresh and delicious, the selection is great...it's a must do for us.

well since you mentioned seafood maybe you do mean dinner? if you spend the day at epcot, you can simply walk over to cape may for their clambake. or you could take the epcot monorail to the ttc, then switch to the resort monorail-could be time consuming but doable.

i liked the dinner at cape may-and i dont eat seafood at all...they have some meats (prime rib!) and sides to go with that, as well as soups and salads....i didnt go hungry and again i dont do seafood

i have not been to chef mickeys for dinner, but i have not heard good things

sorry i didnt read the entire post name...so you do want breakfast...in that case they are pretty much the same..atmosphere is quieter at cape may, and you can just walk through the gateway behind the resorts to epcot

We have gone to Cape May breakfast 2x and loved it. Good food and great character interaction (we got to see them 2x in 2 different Disney trips). We will be trying CM breakfast b/c my son requested for it and I was not happy last time with the dinner (I'm crossing my fingers that breakfast food at CM is not as bad as dinner)

Since the menu at Cape May isn't what you prefer, it is best to eat where the menu appeals to you. No matter what reviews a restaurant gets.

It may be a bit out of the way, but not much. It is way better to eat where you know you will enjoy the foods than to risk not eating just to be close to the park you will be at.

Chef Mickey's is great. We ate there and loved it. (dec of 09)
The interaction with the characters were great and the food was very tasty, fresh and kept up.
I would go there anytime over Cape May.

HMMMMMM It seems like Cape May is the winner! I am leaning waaay over for cape may anyways but needed to hear what y'all thought! Thanks for the responses! Im more leaning that way due to the location. I would like to be right there for the parks instead of on the other side of disney! I for some reason thought they had some seafood during breakfast my bad! Thanks everyone for the opinions!!!!

Well, I would add another con in here, then...if your'e looking for a DINNER meal, there are no characters at Cape May for dinner. So that would take Cape May out of the running entirely.

If you're looking at a breakfast meal, however, I *love* Cape May. It's much more low-key and relaxed and it's an easy walk to Epcot or short ride or walk to DHS.

I would choose Chef Mickey's - it's one of our favorites: very fun atmosphere + you get 5 characters: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto. Cape May is good but it is very relaxed (almost too relaxed) & you only get 3 characters: Minnie, Donald & Goofy. Whichever you choose, you should have a good time and I don't think you will be disappointed.
