We plan to do both of these but want to do breakfast at one and Dinner at the other. We have 2 boys (5 +7).

Which one would you recommend for dinner or Breakfast?

We have 2 boys also. We did the 1900 Park Fare dinner and Chef Mickey's breakfast when they were 1 and 3. They loved both. The dinner food at 1900 Park Fare was okay, but nothing to write home about. The characters were amazing though, especially the step-family! Breakfast was wonderful at Chef Mickey's.

This coming July when we go, our boys will be 3 and 5. I was so torn about these meals as well, mainly Chef Mickey's. We did not plan to go back to 1900 Park Fare for dinner but wanted to try breakfast there, as I have heard some of my friends rave about the food. Plus my boys love Tigger and Pooh, DH loves Alice and the Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins is always a nice treat for the kids and adults! I left it up to my sister since she is coming with her girls (ages 6 and 9 when we go). She said we should do Chef Mickey's dinner the night we arrive to get right into the Disney magic with the classic characters, and do 1900 Park Fare breakfast the morning they leave (we're staying 6 more nights than they are), since it is in the beautiful Grand Floridian and it will create a nice mix of characters for all the kids. We are also doing dinner altogether in the castle. My parents are joining us for these 3 meals as well.

I have heard good and bad reviews about the dinner food at Chef Mickey's but we want to try it out once to see how it is. It is a big buffet and I am sure we will all find something we like. It is such a fun restaurant though and my kids loved it last time for breakfast so we knew we had to go back there! If we are not crazy about the dinner then we can always go back for breakfast on our next trip! Enjoy!

We've done dinner at both many times. I'd say 1900 PF for breakfast just because of the different characters. Food quality wise, I'd put both places on the same level.

Because of the characters, the fact you have two boys and their ages, I would go with Chef Mickey's. Now as for breakfast or dinner my family and I have had dinner there a few times and thought their food was good, so we have no complaints about it.

Do you remember if they had prime rib available, or some kind of steak? We're planning to go there for dinner with a group of 10, and my parents will be with us...my father loves both prime rib and steak. Prime rib is his favorite though! I've had it on other WDW buffets before, at the carving station so I am curious. Also, do they have healthy options? My mom prefers to eat healthy and avoids fried foods or overly rich and creamy foods (she would maybe take a bite or 2 just to taste it, but prefers roasted or grilled items).

Also (this one's just for me ;)), how are the desserts?

I do remember seeing Prime Rib and their desserts were very good.
