We always do breakfast character meals when we go to DW, but this time we have just been so busy I didn't make the ressies and now there's nothing available. We'll be there from 12/11-12/20 :-( Anyway, I'm wondering with a group of 7, if we show up right when they open, what do you think our chances are of getting in without having to wait FOREVER? Thanks!

Honest.......slim to none. Sorry a group of 7 is a very big party. I would highly doubt if you will be seated.

Of course I would doubt that a party of 2 or 3 would be seated during nov/dec. Free dining is really luring in the crowds. and the people who really don't think free dining is worth going for they put off their vacation until a blackout time....which leads to that time frame being crowded.

I would say this.....a group of 7, 98% turned away. That small 2%, the whole party would have to be there right at opening and wait 2-3+ hours to be seated. Sorry, I hate seeing people not being able to get in but it happens.

I would recommend subscribing to the December cancellations thread and also checking the Disney dining reservations site at least once a day. I just booked my trip in August (and am going Thanksgiving week) and had great luck getting all the ADRs I wanted (including CP breakfast, Le Cellier dinner, 1900 Park Fare and 'Ohana) just by checking for the dining site several times a day. I got the Le Cellier ADR from a lovely DISer who posted her cancellation on the November cancellation thread. :)

we have done walk up to Chef Mickey dinner but it was for 3 people and we got there before they open for dinner and they told us 10 mins wait.
But with Free Dinning and Chef Mickey one popular place and 7 people, I would not do a walk up but that's me.

Slim if at all.....Free Dining is going on, Chef Mickeys is POPULAR and 7 is a very large party.I would keep checking for cancellations, or call Disney dining the morning of and see if there are any openings. If you are in the area you can attempt a walk up as long as your party understands you may NOT get in at all
