Trying to make ressies for Chef Mickey's for our upcoming trip. They still have some early morning breakfast availability and I'd like to go ahead and book. But I'd also like to make rope drop at MK (scheduled to open at 9). How early do we need to eat??? And what is the best way to get to the park from that resort?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Chef Mickeys is at the Contemporay which is right on the monorail. Just get on the monorail and go. I would eat pretty early. Probably the earliest they have available. Chef Mickeys is so fun, but you need to be there for awhile to get it all in.

You want to get the earliest possible ADR. Enjoy your breakfast there...it's one of our favorites!

buffet, the meal does not take long, however, if you want to see all of the characters it can take time. In the middle of breakfast, when it is very busy, it has taken as long as 90 minutes. We now go late in the meal and the time is shorter. I would plan for a minimum 60-75 minutes.

I would walk to MK from CM. It is maybe 5 minutes. You can catch the monorail, but it will make stops at the T&TC, Poly and Grand Floridian and take more time.

thanks for all the information. I got reservations for 7:!5!! One more question, we are staying at POP so what is the best way to get to Chef Mickeys. We'll have a car but I know we can't leave our car at Poly????

Thanks again - you all are great!!!!

You should be able to ride a bus to MK and then walk to Chef Mickey's sometimes Disney has buses that run to resorts for Character Breakfasts early in the morning.

are three choices that I can think of;

1) As mentioned above take the early morning bus.

2) Take a cab

3) Drive to the MK parking lot and take the resort monorail to the MK to the Contemporary.

If you have an ADR generally you are allowed three hours parking at that resort. Sometimes we get a dashboard tag and sometimes we don't at the Contemporary.

I would take the early breakfast bus to MK. Let the driver know you are going to Chef Mickey's and you may be pleasantly surprised. But the Contemporary is only about a five minute walk from the MK Bus Station.

Yes you can't leave your car but just in case you are confused, CM is at the Contemporary not the Poly.

Thank you - I did know it was at the contemporary but have read so many different threads that I think everything is starting to run together. And after a PP said that MK and Contemporary were so close together that I could get there quickly after breakfast - it should have dawned on me that I could also just take a bus to MK and then walk (or monorail) over quickly as well. I think all this planning is stealing my few remaining brain cells. (already lost from having children.) :)
Thanks again for all the help!!!

Once your meal at Chef Mickey's if finished I agree that it's best to use the walkway to the Magic Kingdom because it will take you around 10 minutes and it's faster then taking the Resort Monorail. The reason is once it leaves the Contemporary it stops at the Transportation & Ticket Center, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian before arriving at the Magic Kingdom.

Finally here is an overhead picture of the walkway from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom so you can see exactly how close they are to each other.
