Looking to finalize my dinner ressies for 2 adults,3 and 8 year old. I hear some bad reviews about chef mickey's and the bbq. Can someone steer me in the best direction for decent food and the best atmosphere for the kids. thanks

Both Chef Mickey's and the garden grill are great. I did the back Yard BBQ in june and it was horrible. I think others on the board will agree with that. If I had to pick from the other 2 I would sdo the garden grill the kids loved the fact of the rotating resturant.

Loved Chef Mickeys, Did not like Garden Grill (food was bland, Mickey not in character). Never done the BBQ.

Here is a vote for the grill. We rode the land first and the kids loved it and then went to eat at the Grill. It seemed like with the layout we weren't on top of the other families, there was room and it did not feel crowded. We had several visits from characters and got great pictures. We were there on the 4th of July and everything else was super busy but we didn't feel rushed or cramped. The food was really good, I thought. It is on our must do list this time.

I have never done BBQ (however my sister gave it a thumbs down in September).

I have done both of the others twice (last September being the latest for both).

Chef Mickey is our favorite of the two. My girls (age 4) have actually requested to have dinner their for their birthday this year. What a great excuse to go again! :)

I think the Garden Grill is a great place to go once for character interaction. If you choose it, make sure to request seating in the lower teir (booths). Then when the characters are visiting, it is like you have them all to yourself. Unlike the other character meals where the other guests are right next to you. The food (IMO) is just okay. The first year the deserts where fantastic, but last year they had changed them and they were not as good. Still not bad, just not great.

Chef Mickey breakfast food is decent
Dinner is awful and with what they charge you there should be more of a selection.
Character interaction is very good to great
This was my son's choice for his birthday dinner and we really really tried to get him to pick something else. We did go for him but never again

Haven't eaten at the Garden Grill in a few years so I wouldn't be able to give you a recent review of them but we did like it last time we went

Haven't done the BBQ

Ohana has a good kids atmosphere and decent food

I would pick the garden grill. The food and character interaction were great on the lower tier with a view of the land. My children really enjoy this and it is now on our must do list.

...pssst, off-topic, but nice siggie pic! ;)

BTW ~ I didn't hear good reviews for Backyard BBQ either - never been to Garden Grill, but IMHP Chef Mickey's breakfast is better than their dinner menu.....JMO...

My kids who were 3 and 6 at the time LOVED the bbq. :thumbsup2 We all had a great time and really got to let loose, which they really needed after 5 days in the park waiting in lines. The bbq is at the top of list for our trip next month. We have never been to Ohana, but the kids also enjoyed CM. They still talk about the bbq and getting to dance with Mickey and Minnie. Maybe we were there on a good night, but it was a blast!!
