I have some friends who will be visiting WDW from the beach and only planning to eat at Chef Mickey's. Will they have to pay the parking fee?? How do they get to the Contemporary? Thanks for the help!

Just have them follow the road signs for the Magic Kingdom and as they approach the toll booths stay in the far right hand lanes. In our past experiences they've always waived the parking fee if we've said we're going to a hotel for a meal. After they're through the booths they should stay to the right and follow the signs to the Contemporary. The parking lot is beyond the hotel, and they'll be given a 3 hour parking pass.

You're friends can also pay $10.00 + tip to valet park their car. So you should let them know they also have that option.

While that's true, it seems unlikely that a Guest questioning the cost of parking while legitimately parking at a Disney resort while dining, would be interested in paying to park.

Not neccesarily. The OP's questions seemed general in nature as opposed to trying to cut corners or save money.

The OP asked this question for their friends who will be coming from somewhere offsite and maybe they have not been to WDW before to know how things work. Considering that offsite guests pay to park at the Magic Kingdom toll gates when visiting the Magic Kingdom, they might not know that you don't need to pay there when going to one of the Magic Kingdom Resorts.

Thanks for all the help. I consider myself a "Disney Freak" and thought I knew all things Disney. When my friend asked this question, I was pretty stumped. I did not think you should have to pay for MK parking, but it also seems like tons of people would say they were checking in at a resort or eating there, just to get free parking. Anyway, they have a 2 year old who loves Mickey, so they will have a magical time whether they pay for parking or not!

You're welcome. :thumbsup2
