I have a PS for Chef Mickey's for myself, DH, DD(5) and DS(6). DD and DS do not eat food in restaurants. DS is autistic and DD is just plain picky! Do you pay for entrance into Chef Mickey's regardless of whether they eat or not? We can't wait to go!! This is my 9th trip to WDW and FIRST time staying on WDW property!!

As far as I know whether you eat or not, you are paying. My DS is a picky eater, but he loves the chicken strips and pizza. They even have small hotdogs. There is something for everyone. I hope it works out and you have a good time. :)

Unfortunately for you in your situation, character meals are paid for by the head and not by the plate. Basically, you're paying for the food AND the entertainment, not just the food. You're paying for your kids to get the personal (if brief) attention from the characters. I guess if you're bothered with the idea of paying $24 (total) plus tax and tip for 2 kids who won't be eating anything there (and who could blame you?!), your alternative is to spend more time doing character meet-and-greets in the parks. Whatever you decide, you'll have a great time!

A lof of the fun of CM's is all the noise and action. The place can get very loud, partially due to all the fun and partially because you are located in the huge atrium of the Contemporary. Consider this if too much noise overwhelms your son.

There is so much food here; I can't imagine anyone not finding SOMETHING. My kids eat from the kids' bar, pick off my plate a bit, then head for the wonderful desserts. My hubby is terribly fussy and sometimes HE eats off the kids' bar too!

Thank you so much for all of the information! We will definately be going. We are having a late breakfast (10:30 PS) and I have heard that that time of the morning is not as hectic. Anyone know?

I would recommend a later PS time, if your son has problems with crowds/noise. We had an 11:05 PS last time, and it worked out wonderful. While we ate breakfast, it was really our lunch. The restruant was pretty full when we got there, but it cleared out fast. The buffet was still up and the food was good. Service was excellent and the characters had tons of time to spend with our kids.

We had a ps for around 10:30 back in February and the place was not at all busy. That was an off time of year however. I know what you mean about that cost factor on the buffets. My kids bacically ate the fruit and some yogurt. I just tried not to think how much each bite of strawberry was costing! I had just begun to get over a migraine and had a coke and couple of bites of muffin. On the bright side, DH eats like our beagle and they probably lost money on him! Never knew one human being could ingest that much bacon at one sitting...

We had an 11.10 PS for Easter Sunday and it was manic (should have expected it, but wanted something magical for our last morning). Elder DS had 4 platefuls - fruit, roast chicken, then roast beef then desserts - which made up for younger DS picking at two buttered biscuits (he complained they were not as nice as the ones at Cracker Barrel) then selected an apple and banana (which I ended up carrying out as he decided he didn't want them after all). But he did have at least a pint of milk. DH and I had various selections from breakfasty-things and lunchy-things, and the deserts are good (icecream very popular). Food OK, but nothing to write home about and we only got Mickey Pluto and Dale. (Not Minnie, Chip or Goofy)

Our DS(5) is so picky that often he'll not eat even the kids meal - or only the chips. But we did get him fairly hooked on mac&cheese over there (needless to say he won't touch it at home!)
