Chef Mickey's for Lunch

Typically I plan our trips much further in advance, but how free dining came up we leave on Sep 28th!. So it is our first time on the DD plan we upgraded from QSD to the regular dining plan and will be staying at All Star Movies to surprise my daughter Ava (6). On the 29th we plan on staying the day at Magic Kingdom and we wanted to get dinner at Chef Mickey's, but with so little time booking it, there was nothing open. However when i called the CM told me that Chef Mickey's was now open for lunch!!!! So we have a 12:55pm lunch ressie with the Mouse. Has anyone had lunch at Chef Mickey's (whats the menu?)and how much time do you give yourselves to get there from Magic Kingdom? I know its just a monrail ride away but i just want to make sure we are on time!!!


PS! I'm so excited about surprising my daughter, I'm looking for any advice to make this the most magical trip to Disney yet! So any and all ideas are welcome!!

I think the lunch is similar to the dinner menu.

It depends where you are in MK. If you start leaving about 30 min from any of the lands and walk down Main Street, you might see a few characters out. Depending on lines, you could probably see one before heading to the monorail.

I've heard that they hold you ADR for 15 minutes past the time, so if you are running a few minutes late don't worry.
