We settled for Chef Mickey lunch on arrival day instead of dinner. Has anyone done the lunch yet? If so how was it and what kind of food - adults & kids?

We were there for lunch on Saturday. The food was pretty similar to the dinner, but with less selections. They had breads, cold salads, meats, cheeses. The hot selections if I recall were a really delicision salmon, texas shortribs, a pasta, carrots, another vegetable selection, and a couple of other selections I didn't note. For the kids there was pizza, mac & cheese, chicken tenders, peas. For dessert there were cookies, cakes, cheesecakes, and the ice cream bar.

Other than the salmon and the ribs, the food was just so-so, but the character interaction was fabulous. The restaurant was only half-filled at best so the characters could spend a lot of time. Goofy was out greeting people, and Chip, Dale, Pluto, Minnie and Mickey were circulating. It was definitely worth going for the interaction, but I wouldn't go for the food. I like the breakfast alot better there, but we probably had the best character interaction there at lunch.

lauritagoddess~ hey from the picture of your child i think we sat next to you?

I found lunch to be so-so i wasnt very impressed, we were there for dinner on 8/25 it was much better.
There were sanwhich fixings, ribs, chicken ( i found the hot items a little cold), i love the chocolate chip cookies, they are so yummy.
I would choose to go for dinner instead of lunch. It was our last day and i wanted to do something fun with my boys.

OMG - we were there on 9/2 as well... DD and I had a 1:40 ADR.

We enjoyed the experience. It was a good start to a fun Saturday (with the exception of me leaving DDs bag of trading pins on the YELLOW monorail....)

I LOVE character meals - I think I love them more than DD sometimes! The selection of foods was plenty for us, and too our liking - we don't ever eat much at these meals! I agree that I do like breakfast better! We were seated in the "back" of the restaurant I guess you would consider it - back past the buffet there is an area that you step up a couple of steps too - it was very nice up there, not too much commotion can be down on the "main" floor with people coming and going to the buffet, etc. only drawback - couldn't watch the monorail while we at, but there were windows so we had a view of the castle, etc.

DD was happy with Pizza, a Mickey Head ravioli and watermelon - lots of watermelon!

I had a Mickey Head ravioii, salad, some Roast Beef & Prov Cheese from the deli platter. I also tried the salmon & ribs, as well as some "summer veggies". I really really liked the ribs!!!!

Our server was very nice, and quickly brought our drinks, cleared away the dirty plate, and brought iced tea refill without being asked.

The characters were awesome.....

I would go back again for lunch if we were wanting a character meal mid-day - but if we have first time visitors - it will surely be breakfast.

Here's DD with one of her best buds - CHIP - she loves the Chipmunks...

Very recently. My assumption is that it may be in response to the need for more TS seating due to the DDP.
