Ok, I'll admit it: I made a reservation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast after seeing the WDW episode of Travel Channel's Best Places I've Ever Been. It just looked so fun on TV, haha! I realize that reviews are very mixed, but honestly...how disappointed could we possibly be? Our ADR is at 7:30 and we're on the DxDP. The original plan was to do a CS breakfast that day, so it's not like we would be losing a credit. They have Mickey waffles, so if all else fails at least those will be good...right?

I just watched that show last night and had to laugh when I think of all the reviews on the disboards saying how awful it is.

We have eaten there several times for breakfast and even more times for dinner. We have never had a bad meal, a messy, gross buffet, bad service or anything else negative.

Its not gourmet by any means but its a lot of fun. I think eating inside the Contemporary is a must for every Disney fan/visitor!

Like so many other Disney experiences, if I paid that much at home and got that same food, I might be upset. But I am paying for an experience that is very much a part of an overal Disney experience so its all good.

We haven't gone in awhile since we haven't been on the DDP the last few trips and I have to say I miss it. But we'd be paying almost $200 out of pocket so that makes it hard to justify. But we do enjoy it and its always on the list for dinner when we do have the DDP.

I know the reviews on here have been mixed, but we had a great time a couple of weeks ago for breakfast. Our ADR was 7:45am on a Thursday. We checked in, was immediately taken to the photo-op with the statue of chef Mickey, and as soon as we finished, our table was ready. Within 10 minutes of getting seated, the characters started coming by. As for the food, like my DW says, it's hard to screw up breakfast! Besides, everytime I take my kids to one of these character meals, I barely have time to enjoy or even notice the food since we're busy interacting with the characters and taking pictures with them. We thought the character interactions were very energetic, and didn't feel rushed at all with each of them. Fun times all around!

I know the reports are mixed, but we really enjoyed our CM breakfast in August. (So much so that when our dining plans for that night fell through, we ended up back at CM for dinner ... it was another great meal.)

We were five adults and 3 little boys (aged 3 and twins aged 16 months) - the character interaction with the kids was fantastic during both meals and the food was good too. It's not fancy ... it is a buffet after all ... but it was tasty. There was a good variety of choices and things were served at the right temperature.

We did prefer breakfast slightly over dinner - but that may very well be because breakfast was our first ever meal there and returning the same night for dinner was too soon. While we would return for either meal, we would likely not do both in the same day again.

We have never had a complaint about Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I don't mind it at all. We are going again next trip.

Its your basic breakfast fare. Its fine. Its a great place for characters, you can watch them as they make your way to the table

and they have mickey waffles as you say
