Hi there.

If I show up before opening, how likely is it that they will accommodate a party of 2 at Chef Mickey's for breakfast? It's just an ordinary Sunday no free dining period, what does everyone think?

I would make an ADR if you can. From what I've been reading lately, people have not been able to get ADR's for any time of the year--now, June, July, etc., so it might be difficult for you to just walk in.

i agree. whenever i have gone, there have always been tons of people waiting to get in. Most of which probably didn't have ADR

Is there a reason why you don't want to make a reservation?

It would put a dent in my mood if first thing in the morning I trekked over to a different hotel just to be turned away, or to be told to wait an hour or so for food.

There is no charge to make or cancel a reservation so it might be worth doing just in case =)

If they are booked, your chances of a walk-in are pretty iffy! Most of the places we dined at last year were telling the walk-ins that there wasn't any way they could take them.......not even telling them about wait times.....just saying that there were no openings.

We couldn't believe our ears, but we actually heard the CM at Coral Reef tell a couple that walked in without an ADR that there was a 3 month wait..NO KIDDING.....that doesn't even make sense!

I'd keep calling, right up until you leave for your trip, and even after you arrive at WDW. Many restaurants at WDW won't take walk ups if they're fully booked, they'll just turn you away.

People do cancel, so there's a chance that you'll get an ADR, even if it's the day before. But I wouldn't trek all the way over to CR at the crack of dawn on the off chance you'll get in. And if you have kids with you, it's kind of a downer for them to see the characters having fun with the kids in the restaurant, and then have to leave without going in.

Sorry I should mention that I have tried to get an ADR and so far no luck.

Yeah, if you can't get a reservation your chances of getting in are slim to none. Some spots will turn ANY walk ups away even if some people don't show. We booked a reservation at SciFi a couple years ago 45 minutes in advance; didn't want to trek around and ask at the podium. Got there, checked in, every party that came up were turned away even though I knew there were openings if they had just called instead. I booked it at the concierge desk in the hotel lobby on the way to the bus - they can check the computer and tell you what is open.

Your best bet is to try often for an opening - even from your hotel once you're there.
