We will be going to WDW in Jan. and have a PS for Chef Mickey's for our last night there at 5:15 pm. Where is the best place to see the FW (is there an observation deck and can anyone access it) and will we have enough time to enjoy our meal (FW scheduled for 7:30pm)?
Any help would be appreciated!!

There is an observation deck at the top of the CR - just take the elevator to the top floor (where the California Grill is). They even pipe in the music for the fireworks. You should have plenty of time to eat, enjoy the characters and see the fireworks. Have fun!

Last I knew, admission to the top floor observation deck had been restricted. Double check to be certain, but I believe non-resort guests, who are not dining in California Grill, will have to use a different viewing area. I can't remember which one for sure, but I think it was on or near the fourth floor. But as I say, check to be certain.

We did this once. The observation deck is directly on the opposite side of Chef Mickey's. If memory serves me correctly there are shops on one side and the restaurant on the other on the same floor. I don't remember any signs but, there were doors that led to the deck. It was such an inceredible view. Music was piped in but, it is very windy up there!! Be prepared for that. As far as I know anyone can access this area.
