Chef Mickey's disgusted me

I ate at Chef Mickey's years ago for their breakfast and I thought it was great! It seems that more people have complaints about dinner rather than breakfast. We have reservations in a few weeks for breakfast so I am hoping for good food. Also I have read that people complain about it being loud and kids running around. I understand that some kids go over the top but you also do have to know that is to be expected. Remember where you are at!!

I have to agree with you here. Chef Mickey's for dinner is HORRIBLE!! I hated it when I was there last April. We had an ADR at 8:20 pm and the place was packed and it took forever for us to get seated. We too had the issue where DH finally had to say something about being seated. No one offered us 30% off our bill. :sad2:

I loved Chef Mickey's for breakfast the one time I went and have read that it is still good.

On the breakfast (just talking about food, not the overall experience) I think it comes down to your vantage point. I travel a lot for work and eat a lot of "breakfast buffets" at decent hotels. Coming from that point of view, the breakfast food was really subpar. My wife, on the other hand, eats breakfast at home every day and she liked the buffet at Chef Mickey's because she didn't have as many places to compare it to. But either way, you should be going for the experience and the characters, and that part of it is what you would expect. The food is edible, at the character meals if you get better than "edible" you are ahead of the game.

We used to always go every trip and the food was great. Then one time when it was only my DD (now 17) and me on the last trip and she even said the food is not what it used to be. I by far think that Cape May Cafe is almost the best (non character) buffet at WDW, the best Character Dinner buffet is 1900 parkfare.

We ate at Cape May Cafe for dinner twice on our recent trip 8/16-8/27. Once we had an ADR and the second it was the only restaurant that would take us. No others were taking any walkups. (I would just like to add that perhaps Disney should secure all ADR's with a credit card so more people would cancel instead of not show up. I find with the free dining plan, this happens too often.) Anyway, I Love Cape May's dinner buffet. We also did 1900 Park Fare for dinner and my husband thought that was better than Cape May. We disagree, but they are both very good and the characters are great at 1900.

I'm trying to do a character breakfast on our next trip and am torn between Ohana's, Chef Mickey's and Cape May. I have been to Cape May's breakast several times before and was hoping to do one with Mickey this trip. Allearsnet.com says that Ohana's has Lilo, Stitch, PLUTO AND MICKEY. Can anyone confirm this? Also, do they have games as they do for dinner?

Thanks!

My family of eleven just ate here last week for dinner. It was so SICK! We all hated it. The characters were nice to see for the kids, but other than that the food is disgusting. My friend went for breakfast the same week and loved it. It definately sounds like it is only good for breakfast, so skip dinner.

I've heard breakfast here is better than dinner....

Our family of 7 went to CM's for our last dinner in Disney last June. From the start, I got a bad vibe...especially when like others say, people were getting seated before us when we were sitting there waiting. The hostesses had no personality and acted as though we were bothersome when we went to let them know we were there. When they finally seated us, we were in a good spot, but I was very unimpressed with the food. Character interaction was great though...that's about all I can say for it. It was horrendously expensive....and we'd been on the DDP...had to pay oop for this one due to some miscommunication with our travel agent. Can I just say OUCH? Not worth it in the least.

I agree, action with the characters is good if your not rushed. First time we had a great time. Second time less than perfect.... third time my son really wanted the place. We have since scratched it well off our list. We can see Mickey elsewhere.
