I've seen lots of bad reviews for Chef Mickey's dinner. I'd like to make an ADR there and dinner just works better for our schedule. Anyone have any positive experiences? It will be me, DH, and 2 kids, both 17 months. Thanks :)

hhhmm, whats bad about dinner? I haven't read anything bad about dinner, so I am eager to read the responses.

Yes, we had a very good experience in December 2007. We had a great table in the large room to the left of the buffet and had lots and lots of character interaction. My 10 yr old daughter had a grand time and really enjoyed the antics of Goofy. I have a lot of pictures of her with the characters.
The food was good. I would not say fantastic - but good. The choices are not as numerous as some of the other buffets - but it happened to be things that my daughter and I enjoyed. Their desserts are FANTASTIC - little miniature bites of carrot cake, key lime pie, cheese cake, etc., and they also have soft ice cream that you can decorate with all kids of goodies.

I am also one of those people who had a really bad time the first time we went - so this time I specifically told the check in desk where I did not want to sit and asked nicely if they could accomodate me and they said yes. For us, it was a difference in where we sat and our server the 2nd time was really fun and very nice.

Have a great time!!

We love Chef Mickey's for any meal. We just had dinner there in October and it was wonderful-good food, very fun atmosphere and great character interaction. The kids insisted we go back this Sept so I booked an ADR for dinner.

Everyone looks for different things in a restaurant and you'll find people who love it and ones who hate it. I educate myself on what others say, but in the end I like to just try it for myself!

I hope you like it!!

We LOVE Chef Mickey's:cool1: :cool1: We do a dinner and a breakfast there every trip and have not had a bad meal yet;). The prime rib is awesome :goodvibes. It's also a very fun place to eat:woohoo: :woohoo:

It's the only place we all agreed to go back to this trip.. we thought the food was very good and the experience of all the key characters was priceless. Have fun!

We eat at Chef Mickey's for dinner on our arrival day every trip. My DH & DD (10) like it better than I do - - maybe I'm just getting old but it's just too loud and crazy for me. But the kids love it! And my DD loves the sundae/dessert bar!

Go for the characters, nothing else. Everyone will be there and spend time with you and your kids should like it...but to me it was the worst buffet and I would not go back. Maybe breakfast is better but dinner was awful.
