I've read some horrible things about Chef Mickey's lately. I've got an ADR there in 2 weeks at 5:45pm and am wondering if I should cancel it. We're not on the DDP and will be paying OOP. Honest opinions needed please?

Chef Mickey is oneof our favorite places for dinner. The desserts alone are worth it! We were there in January 2007 and I have an ADR for our trip in December!

Chef Mickey is one of our favorite places to eat! We always book a breakfast and a dinner. The food is good and the characters are great. We love how the atmosphere is always so upbeat. My kids love it. Even my 2 year old talks about. He calls it cooking mickey!

I'd choose breakfast vs dinner, but I feel that Chef Mickey is a cornerstone of a Disney visit.

It's all about the atmosphere. The food is not gourmet and I consider it to be fine to bad, but that's pretty typical of many buffets.

I'd go again, if we couldn't get a breakfast reservation, just to see my kids there. :thumbsup2

We went with our 2 nieces so they could see the characters and it was an easy choice before MNSSHP. The characters were amazing but the food was horrible, everything was just plain blech! I might try breakfast but will not go back for dinner.

We love eating at Chef Mickey's! We have a tradition of eating there our first night of every trip. The atmosphere is fun-you get to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, and Chip and Dale, plus every so often this song comes on and everyone swings their napkins around. Our family has the words to the song down so we sing out loud!

We ate there in May and we all loved it. I thought that it was especially good for the meats and salmon. I would definitely return again.

I'm glad to see this thread. We have a dinner reservation in Feb and was a little worried because I didn't hear too much good about dinner. This makes me feel a little better. And I guess just like everything else some people hate it and some love it. So we'll take our chances.
