Was NOT impressed..glad the kids got a chance to get pictures with the main characters..but ewww...ended up eating the kids chicken nuggets and peas...and several mousse domes....Not a big selection..only meat was Thai braised baked chicken (not my style) and roast beef that was WAAAAYY to red for me to eat. Did NOT like the parmesan potatoes...won't be back there!

I know what you mean, we have eaten there twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner, and both times we came out of there disappointed. There are much better character meals on property that we would rather go to then eat there. It will probably be a while until we return to that restaurant. It was not just the food that turned us off of CM, but the service had been horrible both times and we really hate it when the characters are rushing to our table just to sign a book and take 1 quick photo. We like to have some sort of interaction with them, and we have gotten that at other places that we like better (i.e. Cape May Cafe Breakfast, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare Breakfast, Akershus Breakfast...to name a few). Thanks for the review.

Really? We had a wonderful dinner there! Food was soooo good!!! We are scheduled for breakfast there this trip! Cant wait!

I guess to each their own right?

I completely agree. The kids were glad to see the Fab 5 and that was it. Both my husband and I had to eat afterwards. It was scary food. I would go back for breakfast but not for dinner - unless they did an overhaul on it.

I agree. We've gone for dinner numerous times and have always had a good meal. We recently tried Chef Mickey's for breakfast and while it was very good, we'll be going back for dinner next time around.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your dinner, OP.

We do not like CM at all!! It's too bad, it really is a cool restaurant, great characters and atmosphere. Really wish they would upgrade the food!

I personally think it is some of the worst food on property, however it is my kids' absolute FAVORITE restaurant so we go for breakfast. At least you can't go wrong with cold cereal, fruit and Mickey waffles.

The first few years it was opened it was one of the best buffets; now it is one of the worst. If one must dine there, breakfast it the best option. Its hard to ruin breakfast but I am thinking that if there is a way, they will figure it out.

We weren't happy with the menu changes when we were there in May. We've eaten there several other times and had a good meal, but none of us really ate very much that we liked and we probably won't go back either.

I agree, the food choices are not all that good...We went there for Christmas dinner last year, which cost me $90 out of pocket...and was starving when we were done. They had a weird selection of foods, even for Christmas dinner. Plus the Fab 5 was not very attentive to my table of 4 adults...I will not be going back for a long time.

I was just thinking today, if I would want to go back there. We have been once. I left it as alright. Not a top pick by any stretch of the imagination. When we were there in Sept of 2008 the food was alright, a lot better meals. I wouldn't say bad, just not eventful or exciting choices. The characters I would agree were not the best interaction. Some of them were good sometimes, but they seemed in a hurry unless we tried to engage them. And you just reminded me we had the rudest Mickey mouse I have ever encountered!!! We had a large party, so we were there for quite a while and saw them a few different times. We were not so happy with it all and were just finishing up our dinner, but noticed they were coming out again. With such a large party and them not interacting much unless you engaged them and then the other kids in the party didn't get to interact because they wanted to move on we decided to try another round. (A guess these characters had never been to hospitality classes.) Well we were glad we waited....Mickey came out with a whole new personality!!! There's a saying in Maine...."if you don't like the weather, just wait a while." Well waiting payed off Mickey was who you would have thought Mickey would be...very friendly and cuddly and a pal!:cool1: We got some good pictures and he brightened our evening!:yay: If it hadn't been for this Mickey who had obviously been to hospitality classes, we would have left with a not coming back again. So, I guess you never know what to expect unless you take the plunge.:rolleyes1 But, I guess I will still have to think about this one....I have had better interaction with them. I agree with the one poster of the good interaction of the restaurants she listed.

Have people had good interaction with the gang at the restaurant in Epcot?(it slips my mind right now) Dressed in farm attire? And was the food better?

From what I remember of the food at Chef Mickeys it was like going to one of those run of the mill decent, but not fancy or exciting buffet meals that made it better food because it didn't cost much, but in this case it does cost!

We weren't impressed with our last trip to Chef Mickey's either. The food was so-so, character interaction was good, service was poor. It took 45 mins just to get our drinks which our server took orders for the minute we sat down. To the previous poster, we've also been to Garden Grill in Epcot multiple times and this is practically a must do for us on every trip. Service has always been good and we've had some of the best character interaction there. Mickey was superb and mixed a concoction with bits and pieces of left over dessert toppings, trying to get my kids to eat it...just hilarious. Then a "Fight" broke out between Mickey and either Chip or Dale...can't remember....also a very funny experience. I think we must of had the characters at our table for at least 10 minutes.

I thought our meal at Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic package was better than our meal at CMs.

Count me in as another person who won't be back. I've been for breakfast and dinner, and while breakfast was better than dinner, it still wasn't really all that good.

It's been off our adr list for a couple of years - 3 meals that were subpar finished it for us. There are too many other restaurants to try at WDW.

It's funny, before our trip I was nervous about our CM meal and told my DH and in- laws that it was supposed to be bad. We all enjoyed it. Was it the best food ever, no, but it was good and we all left nice and full. I'd go back. So to those with an ADR you might just have to give it a shot and judge for yourself.

We ate dinner there last December- it was our girls' first character meal and our first TS meal of the trip. While the characters were great- the food was disgusting. Our server kept raving about the ribs, but I took one bite and gagged. The mashed potatoes were the only thing worth eating the night we went. The desserts reminded me of things I'd find at a Chinese buffet- even with that old freezer burn taste. Needless to say I pigged out at our Crystal Palace breakfast the following morning.

We returned to Chef Mickey's for breakfast this past August and had MUCH better food.

In all of our visits to WDW and having many meals at many restaurants there, CM is the only meal in which we hated the food. Breakfast was fine but we would never return for dinner.

I have read quite a lot of bad reviews of Chef Mickeys which has always worried me a bit about going. We have now been twice and the kids all loved it because of the character interaction etc but I must admit my hubbie and I thought the food was just okay and definately wouldn't rush back for dinner there.

Chef Mickey's is the one meal we said we would never go back. It was filthy, unorganized, loud and the food was mediocre. I think it put us off though because we had 8:05 ADR's and didn't get seated until 9:00am. Then it took literally 1 hour for the characters to even make it into our room. Most of the people were done w/ their meals just waiting around for the characters. ( needless to say, there were NOT happy people in there) As we were led to our table, we went through the food station crunching on cereal that was left on the floor. it was disgusting. It was like a food mine field.

Then up at the buffet, this one family just let their kids use their hands to pick food out of the bowls and put it on their plates / or their mouths. I'm not kidding. Most all the hot food was either empty bowls/ platters or what was there was cold.

It was just a terrible experience and waste of money. There's plenty of other really great character meals without having to go to this one.
