I made a PS at Chef Mickey's for my DS's 7th Bday. Has anyone ever ordered a cake at breakfast? We want to have all of the fun of celebrating with the characters. Dinner is out because we leave that afternoon.
Should I just go ahead and do it since it's his bday and this is a once in a life time kind of day? :bday: :cake:

My oldest DD has been there 3 times for her birthdays..they always give her a cupcake with a candle. (It's a big cupcake!)

Go for it! How many times do you celebrate your 7th bday at WDW at Chef Mickeys. Make sure you note it on the PS, tell the person when you are checking in and tell the waiter/waitress if there is not a special placemat at your table when you are seated. Even though the wait people are very nice sometimes they forget. My niece and nephew (twins) also picked Chef Mickeys as their 7th birthday breakfast choice. Hope your son has a wonderful birthday!

Did you have to order the cupcake, or did they just give it since you said it was her birthday. We had them note that it was a birthday on our reservation but I wanted to make sure it was recognized by the characters.

How many are in your party???? Before you order (and pay extra for a cake), maybe a free cupcake will suffice if you let them know when you check in. Then you can use the money you save and surprise your DS with a really special memory gift that he can take home!

I remember at breakfast getting a Mickey Waffle with a candle in it instead of a cupcake.. but then again.. that was a few years ago... but it was at chef Mickey's! And they usually will sign a placemat... have all the characters do it... I mean :) Personally.. I love the AK character breakfast.. it is a bit more intimate.. and the servers pay alot of attention to you.. and the characters can spend more time.. less people to see... also.. try to make your reservation as the last one .. do it at like 10 or 10:30... whatever their last seating is... they keep the food fresh.. but there are fewer people and the kids get alot more attention... also the characters tend to "act up" a little more towards the end of their shift! .. the CM's also get a bit peppier as they have less tables and it also can be a great money saver for you... eat a late breakfast.. skip lunch... that will hold you all over till dinner!
