Chef Mickey's before Magic Kingdom

I want to be sure that I am at the Magic Kingdom at rope drop with I go with my family in June. I have been considering having breakfast at Chef Mickey's before hitting MK, but the time thing is an issue.

Would we need a 7AM ADR in order to be at MK by 8:30ish? Is CM usually crowded at 7 or will we have more time with the characters then?

I would love to hear from anyone who has been to CM at 7AM. Thanks for any input!

We have done Chef Mickey's before rope drop and still made it in time (before park opening) but Chef Mickey's has been crowded every single time we've been. You still get plenty of time with the characters though, we've never had a problem getting autographs and photos
