I was a good girl and booked all my ADRs 180 days in advance. But then DH went and changed plans on me so I had to try to scramble and rebook a few of them. I was able to do pretty well, except I got stuck with an 11:20 am for Chef Mickey's. They close for breakfast at 11:30, so are we going to be stuck with the last leftover cold food, no characters and 10 minutes to eat?

actually, historically, the latest serving times offer the BEST character interaction. this is exactly what i'd WANT if i didn't have to be somewhere else.

it was during a late 1900 park fare breakfast with only a few tables left of folks that Mary Poppins came in to join everyone and Tigger assaulted her and stole her umbrella.

at disneyland, i had 6 characters or so all in the same small room and the characters just kept playing with the diners and each other.

This is our checkout day, so the time is perfect in that respect. No where else to be but on the ME bus at 3:00pm

i completely agree w/bradk re: later times result in better character interaction... as far as food goes, because you are going during free dining, chef mickey's may be open for lunch as well as breakfast, in which case you will get offerings from both meals' buffets, which, imo, is a BONUS!

if i had an 11:20 at CMs i'd hit the park at rope drop (better if it's an emh morning), tour 'til 11, grab the monorail to the CR, eat and head back to my resort for a swim, nap, relax, and then head out later in the day when everyone else is weary from the heat!

We did this at the 1900 PF last time and it was awesome. The food was still hot and being brought out, the omelette station was still open and the characters where abundant. I got several good pics of all of them together with my Dks. It was perfect. I did it again this time only at the CP. We hit the parks at opening and then head to breakfast. My kids don't like to eat as soon as they get up.

We booked an 11:20 ADR for Chef Mickeys on May 24th for my daughters birthday. It was EMH that morning at MK and we hopped the monorail over and I had the same fears about them clearing out the food and the characters leaving. Well NO SIR!!! They kept replenishing the food (as others came in after us) and the characters were around twice and at the end when most people had cleared out the characters spent plently of time with us just horsing around with the kids, we got lots of great pics of Pluto and Goofy playing with each other too! I wouldn't hesitate to do this again!!!:thumbsup2

I am so happy to read that everyone's 11:20AM ADR experience has been positive. My family and I have this same time at CM on August 16. I had the same concerns about character interaction and fresh food but not any more!

Was this the same Tigger that was arrested a few months ago?:rotfl: :lmao:

I'm starting to wonder if he has a rap sheet!
