We normally eat at Ohana, our son loves Stitch and it is a tradition. We also "discovered" we love Crystal Palace. One place we have never tried is Chef Mickey. Anyone tried this and, if so, would you recommend this? John is 12, Donna, wife aka boss is older and I am much older.:thumbsup2 We fly Dec 6th this year.:dance3::dance3:

We fly the same day as you :yay:

We have done CM a few times (used to go for brunch on Christmas Day) when DD's were younger. It's good fun and usually there's Mickey, Minnie, Pluto & chip&dale, there may of been others but can't remember sorry. DD's out grew it though after a while :(

We've done it every time we go; prefer dinner to breakfast (beef rib and mash to die for). Our son is 13 and he enjoyed it too... Think he felt it was ok to "do" characters since they come to you!! It is a little loud and the place is fairly big!

We did Chef Mickey last week.

To be honest, we weren't that impressed.

It is a large open, canteeny type of setting in the lobby of the Contemporary. When you go in they take a photo of your group with a small statue of Chef Mickey, later on, they come to the table with said photo and ask for $31 which I thought was a bit much and needless to say we didn't have it.

The food is a buffet and typical Disney Fare, not dissimilar to Crystal Palace, it is good, but not memorable, but that is only my opinion, I know others love it.

The characters were plentiful and we had very little time between them coming around so in that respect it was good. Part way through the characters parade around the restaurant and some kids follow. It was a cute Disney thing, but at 8 our dd felt a bit too old for that part, but enjoyed the characters.

A bit noisy and hectic for us to be honest, I think we have realised we prefer sit downs and table service places, however, if you like Crystal Palace, you will like this, but it isn't such an intimate setting.

The worst dining experience we've had. Never enjoyed it, tables are seriously packed in, way too noisy and hectic. Felt a little like a food court with the characters hurrying between tables.

It's ok - it was better before the expansion as there weren't quite so many people going to the food lines.

It's on the 4th floor concourse so it is a vast open area and it is a loud and lively affaire!

Food is nice (only done breakfast) with a good variety however is standard Disney buffet fare type items.

The characters are the Fab 5 - Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald & Goofy.

We rotate our character meals and this is one we visit less frequently due to price as it is the most expensive. We haven't been this year but have a 7am ressie for our first day in April.

I've done both dinner and breakfast at Chef Mickey's. I prefer breakfast to dinner; However Crystal Palace is much better. If you have that option available that's what I would choose. I mean it's good, but there are definitely better options.
