Which do you think is the better option for a breakfast before heading to MK? I have CM booked right now for 8:30am but I was debating switching it out... never been to Ohana.

We have eaten at both many times and love them both. If you want a slightly more relaxed atmosphere with food brought to your table, go with Ohana. There isn't as much variety as Chef Mickeys, but it's still all you can eat and is served family style to your table instead of having to go through a buffet line. If you want a very energetic atmosphere, keep Chef Mickeys. With that said, I don't think you can go wrong with either one food-wise as we love them both, it just depends on what type of atmosphere you want. Good luck with your decision.

That is a tough choice. I agree with the PP about the differences. If it were me, I would go with Chef Mickey's. I like the atmosphere of the Contemporary Resort with the Monorail going through it. I think it's a little more magical than Ohana (just a little). The nice thing about Ohana is the food is brought to you. So, you don't have to worry about missing a character if you are at the buffet (yes, I know the servers make sure everyone sees all the characters, but I still get that weird feeling while at the buffet).

Thanks for your input! I'm thinking we may stick with CM, my daughter will be 9 and it's her first trip so I'm trying to pick the more entertaining, high energy spots.... and the monorail can take us right to MK after breaky right?

I don't mean to but in but we have reservations for Ohana and I like the idea of not having to take my toddler through the line. Good info, thanks :)

Just for this, has to be CM.

By the way, you'd be quicker to walk to MK, the monorail goes clockwise, so Contemporary -> TTC-> Polynesian -> Grand Floridian - MK. You'll have to do the whole loop,20-30 mins depending. Walking is only about 10 minutes. On the way back though, the Contemporary is the first stop

Yes, as the PP mentioned, it's a short walk to MK from Chef Mickey's (we are fast walkers and can do it in about 5 minutes. The walk is nice (except where you cross the street, it can be a little busy sometimes, don't worry there is a stop light).

However, if it's your 9 year old daughter's first trip, a ride on the Monorail is way more exciting than walking. Take the extra 15 minutes, she will love it. For my kids, taking the Monorail is better than some of the rides at Disney.

If you are staying in a Monorail resort, walk to MK and take the monorail back.

Have a great time. I'm excited for you and your daughter!

Depends on what you are looking for. We've eaten at both several times. The food is much better at Ohana but the character experience is better at Chef Mickey's. (at least in our opinion)

I think we might take the extra 15 minutes to enjoy the ride/experience... this day is our last full day, our 2nd day at MK... and we'll be at the park straight through until after fireworks so no real rush to get there, depending on when I get my FP's for.

That sounds like a great plan for the day!

I hope you have a great trip. Knowing it's your daughter's first trip, it's certain to be very magical.
