Could some one tell me what is in this and how much it cost? Also I think you can buy it and put it on your photopass CD? Has anyone used their disney reward dollars to buy it?

Thanks for the help.

We just got back and went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast one day. They took our picture as a family before we were seated. They brought the picture around about 20 minutes later and said if we wanted it, it would be $32. I think it was about a 5x7 in one of those folder frames with a few 3x5's. We declined and decided we could get other things for our money.

I also wanted to add if you didn't already know, that you can give the photopass people your camera to take a picture as well. We would give them our photopass card and our camera and they would take pictures. Well, when we came back, I logged onto our photopass account and we have almost all of the exact same pictures on our own camera. Saved us $125 as I will not be buying the photopass CD.

(Chef Mickey's picture is something different. I don't think you can give them your camera.)

you can use your own camera for restaurant photos but unless the photo package comes with the meal like at CRT and PSB, they shouldn't be willing to use your photopass card for it.

but if you buy the package, yes, it can be added to your disneyphotopass.com account - you'd get all the photos taken, not just the prints in the package. makes more sense at CRT and PSB than CM though

it also comes with one of those plastic key chain things.
we did buy it last year, we were caught up in the moment. this year, no way. you know if they put mickey in the picture it might be worth the money, but its just a picture of you behind a plate with a picture of mickey.

oh and thats what we do..we give the photopass guy our camera. get the same pictures, and we only have to buy them once. but like the pp said, cant do it at chef mickeys.

Okay I am a little confused. I can buy the package for $32 and get my prints right there. Do they have photopass photographers there where I can just show them my wristband and then have the photos of the plate and any with characters on the pass with no extra charge?

Here is how Chef Mickey's works. You and your family get to the restaurant and upon check in they will bring you to the plate backdrop and take your photo. I don't believe they will use your camera to take it. Then about 20 min later they bring your photo to the table with the option to purchase. If you say no then change your mind later it will probably not be an option. I think they shred the non purchased photos so make your decision wisely. The characters will come around to each table for photos and autographs. The photo pass photographer is not with the characters at all. You would use your own camera for this. The characters also don't stand by the backdrop with you. If you purchase the picture with the backdrop then you can add this to the photo pass CD and you will get all the pictures they take including the one they chose for you. I hope this makes a little more sense

yes it is starting to make sense now...lol. I wonder why they make you pay for the package and you can add it to photopass, which you fork out another $100-$125.

So basically if I want to add the plate backdrop to my photopass cd I need to give them $32.00, but I get all the photos they take. Do I still get the prints they bring to you at the table?

Yes you still receive the prints at the table. I think it was a really cute matted 5 x 7 and 4 3 x 5's. You can add it to your photo pass and then if you choose to use it for a christmas card or you want a different photo or something like that you would have the printing rights. They usually choose the best one of your group but there could be more than one good one. If you buy the CD and the print from Chef Mickey's you may as well ad it to your photo pass so you could reprint it in the future if you wanted.

Thanks huge mickey fan for the info and getting me straight. Trying to figure out how many DRD I need to add for my trip.:goodvibes

Glad I could help. Remember that if you pre purchase your CD you can save $25. I love this option. I have bought the CD for my last 2 trips and I will again for the next one. Knowing I have it I use it to my full advantage. I will be able to add my Princess Storybook Pictures to it also. Have a great trip!!

We were there in April and tried to give them our photopass card and they said they did not do the photopass at any of the restaurants with character meals. You basically have to pay for the package. We did several character meals including Chef Mickey's and this was the case at all of them. I kind of find it hard to believe that in 2 months that would change. It's been this way for as long as I remember.

Our pictures at Chef Mickey's turned out so well we did fork over the $30 some bucks for the photos.

They won't put your photos on the card, however on the back of the purchased picture is the 16 digit photo pass code. When you get home and start entering your photo pass cards, you can add the number from the photo. However the only way to obtain the number is to purchase the photo. So you can add to your photo pass but the photographer won't do it for you.

We gave the Photopass person our camera as well when the pictures were taken. The ones on my camera were better so we didn't buy any.

Someone did report once that you can go to the PhotoPass desk and ask them to add those photos to your account. You tell them where and when you were there and they can do it.

You can also decline to have the photo taken, which is what my family and I did the last time we had dinner there. Since we were staying at the Contemporary we went down to Chef Mickey's in the afternoon when they were closed and took our photos in front of the plate.

I loved our Chef Mickey's picture! It's one of our favorite ones, and the adorable frame with the 8X10 of Mickey and the gang, well - worth the 32 bucks to me.

WOW ~ Thank you for such awesome info! I had no idea we had an option or the ability to do this! :goodvibes
